The author stayed as an invited guest of Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton. All opinions are the author’s own, and Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, had no input in any part of this review.

I visited Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, for 3 nights, with my wife and our 3 daughters in July 2026, about a year after it opened.

We’ve vacationed in the Dominican Republic several times and stayed at a handful of all-inclusive resorts around Punta Cana, so I was curious to experience Hilton’s first all-inclusive Curio Collection property in the country.

After spending several days exploring the resort, eating at its restaurants, relaxing by the pools, and seeing it through the eyes of adults and kids, I found it a refreshing alternative to busier resorts.

Booking Zemi Miches Punta Cana

Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, is an upscale all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. Standard cash rates generally start around $500 per night for 2 guests, though rates can climb significantly depending on the season and room category.

Hilton Honors members can also redeem points for free nights, with standard award nights starting at around 130,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

Hilton’s fifth-night-free benefit for elite members makes the redemption more attractive. A 5-night stay costs roughly 520,000 Hilton Honors points with the fifth night free, which brings the average nightly cost down to about 104,000 points per night.

Because this is an all-inclusive resort, cash rates also vary by occupancy, so families should expect rates to increase as more guests are added.

Hot Tip:

If you have a Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, this resort is one of the best places to maximize its benefits. The card offers up to $400 in annual Hilton resort credits, split into 2 statement credits of up to $200 each year, which can help offset charges made at eligible Hilton resorts, such as Zemi Miches Punta Cana. It’s also an excellent place to redeem a Hilton Free Night Reward certificate, especially when cash rates are $500 or more per night.

The Location Was Part of the Experience

Zemi Miches Punta Cana isn’t a typical Punta Cana resort. Although the resort uses Punta Cana in its name, it’s in Miches, roughly 1.5 hours from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). That changes the feel of the vacation.

In contrast to the busy Bávaro and Cap Cana hotel zones, Miches is a much quieter stretch on the northeastern coast of the Dominican Republic. The area is surrounded by mountains, overlooks Samaná Bay, and feels less developed than the country’s more established resort destinations.

The drive was worth it to escape Punta Cana’s crowds.

The drive was longer, but that was part of the appeal. It wasn’t a destination with nightlife, shopping, and dozens of neighboring resorts within walking distance, but rather a completely different experience, quieter and more removed from the crowds.

Other resorts in Miches include Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda, Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, and Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa. The area is developing as an upscale alternative to Punta Cana’s established resort areas.

It Was Upscale Without Trying Too Hard

Zemi Miches Punta Cana wasn’t a loud, spring break-style all-inclusive where pool games and music dominated the day.

There were still activities, entertainment, and live music around the main pool, but everything felt more relaxed than many Caribbean all-inclusive resorts I’ve visited. Most guests during my stay were families and couples, and even around the busiest pool, the atmosphere stayed fairly calm.

Service was attentive, and the overall vibe was elevated without feeling overly formal or pretentious.

The resort embraced its natural surroundings, with a slightly rustic feel that sets it apart from the manicured look of many Caribbean all-inclusives.

My wife commented that it felt like the resort had been designed around the existing landscape rather than clearing everything to build another cookie-cutter beachfront hotel.

Our Family’s Room Was Spacious

The resort has 496 accommodations — including guest rooms, suites, and beachfront bungalows — spread across 6 low-rise buildings.

Our family stayed in connecting rooms in Building 4, which also houses the lobby. It was a convenient home base with easy access to many of the resort’s amenities. The setup gave us more than enough space for 2 adults and 3 kids.

The bedrooms were large, the bathrooms equally generous, and both had furnished balconies.

Inside, we found bathrobes, a soaking tub, a coffee station, a stocked minibar with water, soda, and beer, and complimentary snacks and bottled spirits. I appreciated being able to grab a drink or a snack from the room at any time during the day.

The room’s only shortcoming was the mattress on our king bed, which was too soft and had started to sag. The queen beds in my daughters’ connecting room were much firmer and more comfortable.

The resort also offers upgraded beachfront bungalows steps from the beach with private plunge pools, separate living spaces, and a more secluded, residential feel. They’re a great option if you want to splurge or use a paid upgrade, though they aren’t bookable using Hilton Honors points.

It Was More of a Pool Resort Than a Beach Resort

The pools were where we spent most of our time.

The main pool overlooking Playa Esmeralda was where most guests naturally gravitated, whether swimming, lounging with a drink, or taking in the ocean views.

One morning, we set up at the kiddie splash pool next to the main pool so our 4-year-old daughter could safely play in the shallow water while we relaxed just a few feet away. It turned out to be one of our favorite spots as a family.

The resort also has a pair of exclusive pools reserved for Club Azure guests. This 148-room premium section of the resort offers extra perks, including private check-in and checkout, lounge access, an exclusive rooftop pool, and a rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking the ocean.

Another big hit with my kids was the waterslide tucked away in another part of the resort. It was a short walk from the main pool complex, but they happily made that walk over and over again throughout our stay.

Playa Esmeralda behind the main pool wasn’t impressive, but as we continued down the shoreline toward the lower-numbered buildings, the beach became noticeably more beautiful. The water was clearer, the stretch of sand wider, and the mountain backdrop gave it a completely different feel from the postcard image most people associate with Punta Cana.

Once I found that section of the beach, I completely understood why so many guests headed there first thing each morning to claim a lounger.

The resort had complimentary kayaks and paddleboards, along with other nonmotorized water sports. Additional excursions and experiences were available for an extra charge.

Varied Dining, but No Standout Meals

The resort offers solid dining options, including Italian, Thai, and Dominican restaurants, a sports bar, a coffee shop with pastries and grab-and-go items, and 24-hour room service. Club Azure guests also have access to an exclusive restaurant overlooking the resort.

The sports bar became our go-to spot for watching World Cup matches, while the coffee shop was perfect throughout the day for espresso, ice cream, or something quick between meals.

It wasn’t the best food I’ve ever had at an all-inclusive, but I never struggled to find something I enjoyed. More importantly, my kids always had plenty of choices, which made every meal easy.

The Resort Offered Several Family Activities

Traveling with 3 kids under 13, I always pay attention to how family-friendly a resort is. Zemi Miches Punta Cana did well here.

Beyond the pools, there’s a kids club, teen club, arcade, bowling lanes, laser tag, and a full schedule of daily activities. The arcade was one of the biggest hits with my family, and we played a few rounds of candlepin bowling together. The waterslide was another favorite for my kids and gave them a fun break from the pool throughout the day.

Just as importantly, the resort never felt like it catered only to families. My wife and I still felt like we could relax by the pool, enjoy a quiet drink, or unwind while the kids stayed entertained. That’s not always easy to pull off at a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort.

Final Thoughts

Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, struck a balance that many all-inclusive resorts struggle to achieve. It felt upscale without being stuffy, family-friendly without feeling overrun by kids, and relaxed without sacrificing quality. It was a quieter alternative to Punta Cana’s busier resort strip, offering a refreshing change of pace that was less about nonstop entertainment and more about slowing down.
