What Is the Amex Gold Card Dunkin’ Credit?

Yes, you’ve finally made it to the part about the doughnuts!

The Amex Gold card’s new Dunkin’ credit allows you to receive up to a $7 statement credit each month for purchases you’ve made at Dunkin’ using your card.

You don’t have to order just doughnuts, of course — Dunkin’ has dropped the “Donuts” from its name, after all. The statement credits can be used for Dunkin’ coffees, Dunkin’ frozen drinks, Dunkin’ wraps, Dunkin’ hash browns, Dunkin’ bagels — the brand has a much larger menu now than you probably remember (unless you live in New England). It’s really been a whole thing.

So go ahead and use your monthly credit of up to $7 on whatever not-a-doughnut menu item you want at Dunkin’ — we’re not here to yuck your yum. Just know we’ll just be using ours on a couple of Bavarian Kremes.

How To Enroll in the Amex Gold Card Dunkin’ Credit

So, no, you can’t just walk into your nearest Dunkin’ and expect to get $7 off your next statement. You have to proactively enroll in this card benefit first.

First, log in to your online Amex account. Then, go to your Amex Gold card account and click Rewards & Benefits. Then, click the Benefits button on the right.

Find the Dunkin’ statement credit benefit.

Click Enroll Now, and that’s it — you’re on your way to a couple extra glazed doughnuts (or breakfast wraps, if that’s your thing) every month!

From now on, when you mosey over to this page, you should see that it says “Enrolled” in the top-left corner.

How To Use the Amex Gold Card Dunkin’ Credit

Once you’ve enrolled in the benefit, just make your purchase, and you’ll see the credit post in a few days, though Amex says you might have to wait 6 to 8 weeks.

Note that if you don’t use the statement credit one month, it won’t carry over to give you up to $14 in statement credits the next. This is a use-it-or-lose-it benefit.

Is the Amex Gold Card Dunkin’ Credit Worth It?

If you used your Amex Gold card’s Dunkin’ statement credit religiously every month, you’d get $84 in value, which is a good chunk of the card’s annual membership fee.

That said, no matter how much you like doughnuts, your doctor would probably advise you to consume such sugary, fatty treats in moderation.
