The joy of new hotels: They’re clean to the core, have no scuffs on the walls, and no one has walked away with the TV remote yet.

And if you stay at Hyatt hotels after they’ve just opened (or have just come into the rewards program), you can earn 2x points per night, up to 25,000 bonus points per stay. Luckily, Hyatt maintains a list of properties that qualify for the bonus points, including eligible stay dates.

Here are the properties at which you can currently earn 2x World of Hyatt points each night.

How To Earn the Bonus Points

To qualify for the bonus points, you need to stay at an eligible property with a checkout date within the period listed on that specific hotel’s terms while it’s featured in the new hotels promotional page. Registration isn’t required, but you must book the “New Hotel Member Bonus Offer” rate.

Only paid stays qualify to earn points, so award stays no longer count (which they did when the previous version of this offer provided 500 points per night on both paid and award stays). Group rates don’t qualify. And while the terms say it may take 2 to 4 weeks to receive your bonus points, it’s typically much quicker. On previous stays, the bonus points posted to my account a few days later, posting jointly with the stay credit.

Bottom Line:

You’ll earn points if you check out during the eligible dates, and you need to book the “New Hotel Member Bonus Offer” rate to qualify.

Final Thoughts

If you stay at a new Hyatt hotel during certain dates, you can get 2x points per night. This is an updated version of Hyatt’s new hotel promotion, which previously provided 500 bonus points per night, whether you paid or redeemed points for your stay. Now, only paid stays qualify, and only the base rate earns double points — not any bonus points from your Hyatt elite status and not the taxes added to the base rate.
