Marriott International is celebrating a huge milestone with the opening of its 600th property in the Asia Pacific region (not including China).

The new property, located in Adelaide, Australia, is a Marriott Hotel — Marriott’s flagship brand — and is now available to book.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our 600th property milestone in the region with the Adelaide Marriott Hotel, a brand that bears the name of our founding family,” said Rajeev Menon, president, Asia Pacific excluding China, at Marriott International.

Let’s take a closer look at Marriott’s hottest new property in the Land Down Under.

Adelaide Marriott Hotel Opens Its Doors

You can’t miss the quintessential all-glass design of the Adelaide Marriott Hotel that now rises 14 stories high out of Adelaide’s historical, 150-year-old General Post Office building.

The property, which is the first Marriott International hotel in the South Australian city, has 285 rooms, 12 of which are suites.

Rates for the entry-level superior guest room start at around $270 per night, while the lowest nightly points rate we found is 54,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.

Hot Tip:

When booking a stay at a Marriott hotel, it’s worth considering using a credit card that will get you bonus perks and benefits during your stay and bonus points for paying with the card. A great example is the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful™  Credit Card which could earn you up to 18.5x Bonvoy points per $1 spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels.

As all new hotels should have, the Adelaide Marriott also boasts an inviting indoor pool for guests to enjoy during their stay.

Marriott doesn’t plan on stopping its APEC growth anytime soon, with plans to have a portfolio of around 1,000 properties.

“With 600 operational properties across the APEC region and close to 400 in the pipeline, our growth trajectory is robust,” said Menon.

Hot Tip:

Thanks to points and miles, flying all the way to Australia doesn’t have to break the bank.

Final Thoughts

Marriott International’s milestone 600th property, Adelaide Marriott Hotel, features its flagship Marriott brand in one of Australia’s less touristy cities.

Here’s to the brand’s continued growth in the APEC region and many more exciting hotel openings in the not-too-distant future.
