A new promotion from Aegean offers the chance to get a 30% discount on its Miles+Bonus award tickets. While Aegean doesn’t have a huge route network, this can provide a pretty significant discount on redemptions. Let’s take a look.
Promotion Details
This promotion runs through October 24, 2022, so if you’re looking to take advantage you’ll want to act quickly.
Here are the terms to be aware of:
Valid for all Aegean-operated flights
30% discount on all award redemptions
Valid for one-way and return tickets
Book by October 24, 2022
No limitation on travel period
Is It Worth It?
Overall, this is a pretty decent discount. If you have Aegean miles to burn, you’ll want to take a look to see if any dates/rates are available for your needs. As it is, Aegean mainly serves short-haul routes within Europe and the Middle East. However, you can find flights from both Toronto (YYZ) and Calgary (YYC) if you’re looking to leave from North America.
While Aegean’s Miles+Bonus program isn’t the most well-known within the U.S., there are still great deals to be had if you have the miles. Unfortunately, most of its best redemptions have to do with its status as a member of Star Alliance — and this promotion only applies to Aegean-operated flights.
That being said, intra-European flights in particular can be worthwhile with this promotion. Aegean operates a fairly simple award chart. In order to calculate how many miles you’ll need for a redemption, you’ll want to multiply the distance flown against the numbers shown in this chart:
SCROLL FOR MORE
Domestic
International
Economy
Flex
5,000
8x Distance Miles (minimum 7,000 miles)
Comfort Flex
7,500
10x Distance Miles (minimum 9,000 miles)
Business
10,000
15x Distance Miles (minimum 15,000 miles)
You can also use Aegean’s handy miles calculator to help. For example, a one-way business class flight from Athens (ATH) to London (LHR) would normally cost you 22,425 miles.
With the 30% discount, you’ll be paying just 15,697 miles for a 4-hour flight in business class. Not bad!
Although Aegean doesn’t partner with any of the major airline transfer partners, you can choose to transfer over your Marriott Bonvoy points at a 3:1 ratio, with a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points you transfer.
Aegean’s newest promotion has the potential to save big amounts on flights, though it only applies to flights operated by the airline. If this is something you’re interested in — and you have the miles to spend — be sure to book before October 24, 2022.
