Air Canada has made a notable change for its economy passengers: As of October 1, 2025, travelers can now enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and select Canadian-made snacks on every flight, including routes to popular leisure destinations like Mexico and the Caribbean.

This change, which started rolling out in September, shows Air Canada’s focus on improving the economy experience and featuring Canadian snacks and drinks.

So what exactly is included for economy passengers now? Let’s break it down.

Depending on the time of day and the route, customers can expect different complimentary options:

  • Morning flights (before 10 a.m.): MadeGood Mornings Cinnamon Bun Soft Baked Oat Bars now join existing snack choices such as TWIGZ Pretzels and Leclerc Celebration Cookies.
  • Toronto–Billy Bishop flights (after 10:30 a.m.): Customers will be offered Greenhouse Ginger Defence Wellness Shots, a Canadian organic brand that also features in Air Canada’s premium cabins.
  • Expanded Air Canada Bistro: The buy-on-board menu adds new Canadian products like Summer Fresh Hummus & Crackers and TWIGZ Sour Cream & Onion Pretzels, while keeping staples like Smarties.
  • Beer and wine for all: Complimentary alcohol now covers all flights, systemwide, including sun routes to Mexico and the Caribbean.

One standout addition is Heineken 0.0, making Air Canada the only North American airline to serve non-alcoholic beer inflight, complementing the new standard of free beer and wine available on every flight. That includes routes to Mexico, the Caribbean, and across Canada.

These upgrades reflect Air Canada’s approach to improving the economy travel experience at a time when many airlines are cutting back on services. By adding more drinks, snacks, in-flight entertainment, and complimentary Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members, the airline is catering to leisure travelers while incorporating Canadian-made products throughout its offerings.

Bottom Line:

Starting October 1, Air Canada economy passengers can enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and a variety of Canadian-made snacks on all flights, including routes to Mexico and the Caribbean.

Final Thoughts

Next time you’re flying Air Canada to or from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean in economy, you’ll get to enjoy some delicious Canadian snacks and drinks. Air Canada’s new offerings demonstrate how airlines can separate themselves from the competition by focusing on the small details that make a flight more comfortable and satisfying.

While drinks and snacks won’t improve legroom or make your seat wider, they add a welcome boost to the flight and make, dare I say, economy travel more enjoyable.
