With the summer 2024 travel season edging to a close, Air Canada already has its eyes set on new routes for summer 2025.

The Canadian flag carrier is planning to launch 2 new European routes from its base at Montréal (YUL) that will serve Naples, Italy (NAP) and Porto, Portugal (OPO).

Here are the details of Air Canada’s summer 2025 European expansion.

Fly Nonstop From Montréal to Naples and Porto Next Summer

Air Canada is adding 2 new European strings to its leisure network bow with the launching of nonstop service from Montréal to Naples and Porto.

The first to launch on May 16, 2025, will be Naples — the gateway to Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, and Capri in Italy.

The service will operate 4 times weekly with the following schedule:

  • Depart Montréal (YUL) at 7 p.m. and arrive in Naples (NAP) at 9:30 a.m. (+1)
  • Depart Naples (NAP) at 11:15 a.m. and arrive in Montréal (YUL) at 2:35 p.m.

The route, which will be operated by the airline’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, will be the only nonstop service from Canada to the Italian city.

Later in the summer, on June 4, Air Canada will send its narrow-body Boeing 737 Max 8 Aircraft to Porto for the first time.

Porto is Portugal‘s charming second city and a great jumping-off point for visiting the wineries and breathtaking landscapes of the Douro Valley.

The route will also operate four times per week with the following schedule:

  • Depart Montréal (YUL) at 9:55 p.m. and arrive in Porto (OPO) at 9:45 a.m. (+1)
  • Depart in Porto (OPO) at 12:15 p.m. and arrive in Montréal (YUL) at 2:35 p.m.

It’s already possible to fly nonstop between the 2 cities, thanks to Air Transat’s seasonal service. However, given the lack of points redemptions for flights with Air Transat, this gives North Americans a new way of redeeming points on nonstop flights from Montreal to Porto.

Hot Tip:

Air Canada’s Aeroplan frequent flyer program boasts a wealth of benefits and some great value redemption possibilities, even if you’re based in the U.S. There’s even a Chase co-branded Aeroplan® Credit Card to boost your points earning potential and unlock Aeroplan 25K status.

Final Thoughts

By building out its leisure destination route network, Air Canada is giving its loyal passenger base more options when planning summer travel for next season.

Given Air Canada’s membership in Star Alliance, a connection in Montréal could also pose a great value option for Americans wanting to head to either Naples or Porto.
