Air Canada’s economy passengers are in for a treat (literally).

Since June 5, 2024, Air Canada economy passengers have enjoyed enhanced in-flight food and beverage offerings, including premium snacks on all flights and complimentary beer and wine on all domestic and U.S. flights. Now, the airline announced that this benefit is permanent.

“The complimentary beer and wine offering has been a well-received addition to our in-flight service, and we’re excited to make this a permanent offering in Canada and the U.S. for every customer, regardless of their chosen fare,” said Vice President, Loyalty & Product at Air Canada, Scott O’Leary.

Here’s more on what you can expect from your next economy flight with Air Canada.

Premium Snacks for All Air Canada Passengers

First, all Air Canada flights offer complimentary premium snacks to all passengers, including those in economy.

Selections include sweet and savory Canadian treats, like Alberta-based TWIGZ’s buttery herb and garlic pretzels and a milk chocolate Célébration Cookie by Leclerc, based in Quebec.

Complimentary Beer and Wine in Economy

Economy passengers on Air Canada flights within Canada and the U.S. can enjoy complimentary beer and wine. This was previously introduced as a temporary perk, but the airline says it’s now permanent.

If you enjoy a tipple when you travel, then you might consider flying Air Canada instead of American, Delta, and United, which don’t offer complimentary alcohol to economy passengers.

According to the airline, its bar has the largest selection of drinks of any airline in North America.

Beer lovers can choose from 4 options: Hop Valley, Creemore Springs Premium Lager, Coors Light, and Molson Canadian, one of Canada’s most popular lagers.

As for the wines, 2 French options from Paul Mas are offered to economy passengers: a full-bodied red and a fresh, summery white.

Spirits and cocktails are available for just $5 each. The menu includes all-time classics like Baileys, Campari, Bombay Sapphire gin, Bacardi Superior rum, Tromba Tequila Blanco, Smirnoff vodka, and Canadian Club rye.

Hot Tip:

Air Canada operates nonstop flights from dozens of cities in the U.S. and onwards to some exciting global destinations. The airline’s loyalty program, Aeroplan, offers some excellent value redemptions across the entire network.

Final Thoughts

Air Canada is upping the ante in its economy cabin. The introduction of new premium snacks and complimentary alcoholic beverages on domestic and U.S. flights was a welcome addition earlier this year. In fact, it was so well received that the airline has turned this temporary addition into a permanent benefit.
