Nonstop service to Dubai (DXB) is coming to Vancouver (YVR) this fall thanks to Air Canada.
The Canadian flag carrier will start the globe-crossing service starting October 28, 2023.
“We are extremely pleased to add the only non-stop service linking Vancouver and Dubai, two iconic and vibrant global destinations,” said Mark Galardo, senior vice president of network planning and revenue management at Air Canada.
Let’s take a look at the details of Air Canada’s newest venture to the Middle East.
Details of Vancouver to Dubai Nonstop Route
Air Canada’s latest route announcement is an interesting development in its international route network.
From October 28, 2023, the service will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to Dubai, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays on the return leg to Vancouver. The schedule is planned as follows:
The 15- to 16-hour journey will be operated by the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The jets comprise 30 lie-flat seats in Signature Class (business class) in a 1-2-1 configuration. Additionally, there are 21 extra-reclining seats in premium economy and 247 seats in economy.
1-Stop Itineraries From Vancouver via Dubai Now Possible
Demand for point-to-point travel between the 2 cities is likely not sufficient enough for Air Canada to launch a service.
However, thanks to Air Canada and Emirates’ recently established codeshare agreement, passengers departing from Vancouver will be able to connect seamlessly onto Emirates flights departing from Dubai to destinations across the globe.
As it stands, Dubai-based Emirates only operates 1 nonstop service to Canada from its U.A.E hub to Toronto, which the airline has just increased to daily.
Air Canada is providing British Colombia and the West of Canada with its only nonstop service to Dubai and the Middle East. From there, passengers will be able to connect seamlessly onto Emirates’ global flight network. This is big news for Star Alliance flyers, as United launched its inaugural service to Dubai from Newark (EWR) recently!
