Is the water calling your name? Or perhaps it’s the idea of white sand beaches, blue lagoons, and manta rays drifting by.
If any of this piques your interest, you may want to head to French Polynesia, where such days are the norm — and right now, Air Tahiti Nui is making that possibility a lot easier.
The flag carrier of French Polynesia is offering a special promotion that provides discounts on award tickets to this paradise in the South Pacific.
Let’s take a look at all the details.
Offer Details
French Polynesia is famous as a honeymoon destination, which is likely why Air Tahiti Nui is launching this promotion to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Eligible tickets will be able to receive 50% off a second ticket when redeeming points.
This promotion is valid for tickets redeemed using Air Tahiti Nui’s loyalty program, Club Tiare.
Here’s some other information you should know about this promo:
- Valid for both economy and business class flights
- Buy 1, get 1 50% off
- Book before February 15, 2023
- Travel until December 31, 2023
- No stopovers allowed
- Must call or email to book
- Tickets are non-refundable
This promotion works for flights to French Polynesia, but it also works for other flights in the carrier’s network, including the very interesting Air Tahiti Nui flight between Los Angeles (LAX) and Paris (CDG).
Is It Worth It?
This presents a pretty good deal if you’re looking to travel with a partner, especially if you’re heading to Paris. Here’s a look at the cost of some different economy class routes including the promotion:
- Los Angeles (LAX) to Paris (CDG): 50,000 miles + 25,000 miles = 75,000 miles roundtrip for 2 tickets
- Los Angeles (LAX) to Papeete (PPT): 60,000 miles + 30,000 miles = 90,000 miles roundtrip for 2 tickets
- Los Angeles (LAX) to Auckland (AKL): 80,000 miles + 40,000 miles = 120,000 miles roundtrip for 2 tickets
At just 75,000 miles round-trip for 2 long haul tickets to Europe, this definitely represents a good value.
This all comes with 1 large caveat — it is very difficult to earn Club Tiare miles, especially because the program doesn’t have transfer partnerships with any flexible-point currencies.
Instead, you’ll need to either fly with Air Tahiti Nui or one of its partners and credit the miles earned to Club Tiare.
Air Tahiti partners include:
- Alaska Airlines
- Air France
- American Airlines
- Air New Zealand
- Japan Airlines
- Korean Air
- Qantas
- TGVair

Final Thoughts
Air Tahiti Nui has launched a lucrative sale allowing customers to get a second award ticket at half price. This is valid for all of the airline’s routings, including those heading to France or New Zealand.
However, it can be difficult to earn Club Tiare miles, making this promotion out of reach for many. If you happen to have a stash lying around, take a look before February 15, 2023, to see if there are any routes that work for your travel plans!
