Alaska Airlines is celebrating Canada Day with a special treat for flyers — a 25% discount on economy fares to and from Canada.
This is a flash sale, so there are several things you should be aware of — here’s a look at everything you should know!
Alaska Airlines Flash Sale Details
The sale is valid for flights between September 7 and November 16, 2022, and on Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays — Fridays and Sundays are excluded from the sale.
There are also blackout dates between October 10 and October 12, 2022.
The deal is valid for flights originating in any U.S. destination served by Alaska Airlines (except for Prudhoe Bay in Alaska), but you can only fly to the following Canadian destinations with a discount:
You shouldn’t have trouble finding deals, especially if you’re flying from an Alaska Airlines hub such as Seattle (SEA).
We ran several searches for flights from Seattle to Vancouver and New York (JFK) to Calgary. The regular fares (without the promo code applied) for Seattle-Vancouver cost $104 one-way, but then dropped to $82 when using the promo code — a 26% savings.
Keep in mind that these deals are on the cheapest Alaska fares, which are generally “Saver” seats.
If you don’t purchase your seats in advance, they will be assigned at the gate and will be located in the main cabin. Also, Saver travelers board last, but Mileage Plan members can still board with their group. Overhead bin space is on a first-come, first-served basis with 1 carry-on and 1 personal item. Note that changes are not permitted for Saver fares.
When you’re booking flights, be sure to use a credit card that earns rewards on travel purchases. And remember, Alaska Airlines has 2 co-branded cards that earn bonus miles on Alaska purchases in exchange for reasonable annual fees.
