2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Alaska Airlines.

The Seattle-based carrier is launching nonstop flights to Europe for the first time, and as of today, December 9, tickets for its new route to London (LHR) are on sale!

Here’s more on the new route and the best ways to book a ticket for yourself.

Alaska’s New Seattle to London Service

London (LHR) is Alaska’s second European destination, following Rome (FCO), which kicks off on April 28, 2026.

The first flight to London is scheduled to depart on May 21, 2026. It will operate daily on a year-round basis with the following schedule:

  • Depart Seattle (SEA) 9:40 p.m. — Arrive London Heathrow (LHR) 3:05 p.m. (+1)
  • Depart London Heathrow (LHR) 5 p.m. — Arrive Seattle (SEA) 6:50 p.m.

Passengers returning to Seattle from London on Alaska’s new flight will depart from Heathrow’s Terminal 3. In terms of lounges, the terminal offers the highest-quality selection in the entire airport. Passengers in premium cabins or with Atmos Rewards or reciprocal Oneworld alliance status can sip freshly made espresso martinis in the Cathay Pacific lounge and indulge in the à la carte restaurant of the Qantas lounge. American Airlines and British Airways also have lounges in this terminal, but Cathay and Qantas outshine them.

Alternatively, Heathrow’s Terminal 3 is home to the U.K.’s only American Express Centurion Lounge. Holders of the Platinum Card® from American Express, the Business Platinum Card® from American Express, and the Centurion® Card from American Express are eligible to use this lounge when flying Alaska Airlines in any cabin.

Best Ways To Book Alaska Airlines Flights to London

If you’re tempted to try Alaska Airlines’ new Seattle-to-London service, you can book with cash, points, or a combination of both.

Alaska is promising round-trip fares in economy from $699. After a quick check, I saw significantly higher fares on Alaska Airlines’ website, which may be a glitch as the fares are being added to the system.

Another option would be to use points. Again, redemptions are currently looking higher than they should be for now. However, when flights to Rome launched, the lowest one-way redemptions were showing at 30k Atmos Rewards points in economy and 150k points in business.

Hot Tip:

In addition to its all-new loyalty program, Alaska Airlines has recently introduced the Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card, which is a great option to consider when booking Alaska Airlines flights with cash.

Final Thoughts

It’s great to see Alaska’s flights from Seattle to London finally coming on sale. With a bit of luck, it won’t be long before round-trip economy fares will drop to the $699 that Alaska promised.
