London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is the busiest airport in the U.K. and one of the busiest in the world, transporting over 60 million passengers in 2022. It hasn’t yet reached its pre-COVID-19 passenger traffic (over 80 million passengers in 2019,) but it’s slowly recovering.

International flights make up over 87% of flight operations, so it makes sense that LHR has an extensive lounge offering from many international carriers, including American, Qantas, and United.

With plenty of landside transportation, it’s easy to move between terminals at LHR outside of the secure area. However, visiting a lounge in a different terminal between flight connections isn’t possible, as the terminals aren’t connected within the secure area and a valid boarding card is required for a departure at the terminal.

Although many lounges are exclusively for premium cabin passengers or those with elite frequent flyer status, there are several that allow paid access for all passengers.
