Alaska Airlines is adding a brand new flight from Paine Field to Honolulu, with year-round service on a Boeing 737. This is a perfect flight for those who live north of Seattle, or those connecting to other markets from Paine Field.

New Service Starts in November

You might be wondering where Paine Field Passenger Terminal (PAE) is in relation to the more well-known Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The airport is located in Everett, Washington, about 20 to 30 minutes north of Seattle, and is adjacent to the Boeing factory. It’s a smaller airport that serves not only customers in this area, but also as a connection point for cities like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, or Palm Springs.

Paine Field is adding a new year-round flight to Honolulu, complementing existing service out of Seatac. It will be flown once daily by a Boeing 737 plane with first class and economy class seating.

The flight will launch on November 17, 2023, just in time for winter on the mainland.

From November 17, 2023, through January 7, 2024, the flight will operate on this schedule:

  • Depart Paine Field (PAE) at 9:10 a.m. — Arrive Honolulu (HNL) at 1:38 p.m.
  • Depart Honolulu (HNL) at 11:25 p.m. — Arrive Paine Field (PAE) at 7:10 a.m. (+1)

From January 8, 2024, year-round service commences with a day-time schedule:

  • Depart Paine Field (PAE) at 9:25 a.m. — Arrive Honolulu (HNL) at 1:40 p.m.
  • Depart Honolulu (HNL) at 2:40 p.m. — Arrive Paine Field (PAE) at 10:47 p.m.

Fares will start at $149 one-way and you can redeem as few as 12,500 Mileage Plan miles one-way.

Why You Might Consider Flying From Paine Field

Paine Field is a much smaller terminal than the larger Seatac, so for those that prefer a more seamless security experience, and a much more modern gate area, it’s a great choice.

Alaska is big player for flights out of Honolulu, with 30 nonstop peak-daily flights, so this addition to Paine Field is just one more way to get to Honolulu on Alaska. If you’re connecting in Paine Field, these are the cities Alaska serves from there: Anchorage (ANC), Los Angeles (LAX), Las Vegas (LAS), Orange County (SNA), Palm Springs (PSP) (seasonal), Phoenix (PHX), San Diego (SAN), San Francisco (SFO), and Tucson (TUS).

Hot Tip:

Make sure to join Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan so that you can earn miles from your trip and redeem them for spectacular award travel.

Final Thoughts

Alaska is really upping its game to Hawaii with this new flight from Paine Field. It’s a great option for customers who don’t want to trek down to Seatac and an alternative option for connections along the West Coast.
