For now, only Saver fares will be affected. Travelers who purchase standard economy tickets will continue to earn between 100% and 150% points relative to the miles flown, depending on fare class, while premium cabin tickets can earn even more. That’s an important distinction for frequent flyers.

While Saver fares may still offer the lowest upfront price, they are becoming less attractive for travelers who value earning rewards points and elite status.
