We finally have an opening date for the much-awaited Alila Shanghai: September 25, 2024. While Hyatt hasn’t said much about the hotel, we know it will be an ultra-luxe option for Hyatt loyalists in Shanghai.

Here’s what you need to know about Alila Shanghai and how to book it with cash or points.

Alila Shanghai Opening Next Month

Alila Shanghai has 186 rooms and 5 suites and is a conversion of the Four Seasons Shanghai Puxi, which closed in 2022.

All rooms offer a spa-like bathroom, lounge seating, and Bluetooth speakers. The largest option — the Penthouse Suite King — offers more than 2,600 square feet and views of the city.

The hotel has 4 dining outlets offering Shanghainese cuisine, afternoon tea, Shanghai-inspired cocktails, and more. Amenities include an infinity pool, a hydrotherapy pool, a wet sauna, 4 meeting rooms, a fitness center, and a spa.

The hotel is scheduled to open for guests on September 24, 2024.

Alila is 1 of Hyatt’s luxury brands and was initially managed by Two Roads Hospitality. Today, there are 18 Alila hotels in 7 countries, and the brand has a significant presence in Asia.

Booking Alila Shanghai

While the Alia Shanghai doesn’t open until next month, reservations are available now. The hotel will participate in the World of Hyatt loyalty program, which means you can earn and redeem points here.

Standard king rooms start at around $250 nightly for dates this fall. If you plan to book a cash rate, you’re in luck, as the hotel is running several promotions. For instance, the “Member Save More” rate offers a 15% discount and an extra 2% discount for the Alila’s grand opening.

The Alila Shanghai is a Category 5 World of Hyatt property. That means award redemptions range from 17,000 to 23,000 points per night. World of Hyatt points aren’t the easiest to earn, but they offer incredible value in Asia.

You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio or earn points through welcome bonuses and co-branded credit cards.

Final Thoughts

The Alila Shanghai is scheduled to open next month, though bookings are already open. While Hyatt has kept mum about many details, it’s full of impressive amenities, such as restaurants, a spa, and an infinity pool. We’re looking forward to the Alila Shanghai opening next month, now that the rebrand from Four Seasons is complete.
