As you can imagine, Alila has some of the largest price tags of the various properties in Hyatt’s portfolio — being able to use points can literally save you thousands of dollars on your vacation.

In the next section, we’ll identify the best Alila properties to redeem your points at for maximum value!

1. Alila Ventana Big Sur

Alila Ventana Big Sur is truly a special property. Considered to be the most expensive hotel in World of Hyatt’s portfolio, this nearly all-inclusive coastal resort in Northern California’s Big Sur offers amazing luxury and facilities to those who stay at this adults-only property.

Here, all meals, including in-room dining, poolside lunch, breakfast, and dinner are included.

Plus, you have access to a complimentary series of signature experiences including yoga, Tai chi, meditation, and daily hikes.

The area is well known for its beautiful hikes, and the hotel offers access to complimentary items for use on hikes through The Excursion Outpost, including hiking poles, backpacks, snacks, and reusable water bottles.

Lastly, there’s even a complimentary Volvo chauffeur service within a 3-mile radius, beyond the other amenities and facilities offered here. Additional costs apply for spa services, retail purchases, alcoholic beverages, and certain Alila Experiences.

If you’re booking a standard room with points, you’ll get a private, 415-square-foot room with 1 king bed and a private deck with ocean or forest views.

There’s a work desk, lounge chair with a coffee table, and a beautiful windowsill to admire the surrounding nature. You’ll also find a Nespresso machine, a minifridge with complimentary snacks and soft drinks, plus blackout curtains for maximum sleep optimization.

The natural stone bathroom is appointed with a deep soaking tub, water closet, walk-in rainfall shower, and luxury amenities from Body Bliss.

The Sur House is the main full-service restaurant open for breakfast and dinner, but you can also grab a bite near the pool. You can also check out the Big Sur Smokehouse, which serves classic barbecue favorites. Private dining is available at Glass House, too.

On the property, there’s an on-site garden, fitness center, spa, infinity hot tub, and Japanese hot baths, as well as meeting and event spaces.

As you can imagine, Alila Ventana Big Sur is an incredible World of Hyatt Category 8 property, which is the highest possible tier. Off-peak rates with points are 35,000 points per night, while standard rates are 40,000 and peak rates are 45,000. You’ll almost never find any off-peak availability, though.

When you look at room rates, you’ll probably think your eyes are playing tricks on you. But paying $2,500 to $3,000 per night for a standard room here is not a typo.

2. Alila Kothaifaru Maldives

One of the newest hotels we’re most excited about is Alila Kothaifaru Maldives, a tropical oasis in the most competitive luxury resort market worldwide.

This resort is located at the secluded Raa Atoll, famous for its Hanifaru Bay UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and accessed mainly by a 45-minute seaplane ride. It’s also known for being the largest feeding and breeding hotspot for manta rays and whale sharks in the world.

This resort houses a total of 80 villas, and the entry-level beach villas are nearly 2,200 square feet each. Within each villa, you’ll find a private freshwater plunge pool and a separate bedroom and living room, as well as a sun deck with ocean views.

Standard luxury amenities can be found in your room, including a private bar, espresso and tea facilities, free Wi-Fi, and a 4K flat-screen TV. The indoor-outdoor hybrid bathroom is equipped with a soaking bathtub, rainfall shower, twin vanities, and Alila Living Him and Her bath amenities.

Enjoy 5 dining options, as well as private dining available on a traditional Maldivian dhoni (boat).

The facilities are abundant — choose between soaking up the views and sun from the infinity pool, grabbing a workout at the TechnoGym fitness center, restoring your balance with yoga spaces, checking out the game room, getting your thrill on with water sports and marine excursions, or just pampering yourself with spa treatments. There’s a kids’ club, too!

Alila Kothaifaru Maldives, despite being an amazing property in arguably the best tropical destination in the world, is surprisingly a World of Hyatt Category 7 hotel, costing 21,000 points per off-peak night, 25,000 per standard night, and 29,000 per peak night.

Paid rates average $1,200 per night, but rates during the low season prone to monsoons can be as low as $850. On the flip side, it’ll cost a whopping $3,000 per night during the peak holiday season to book just a standard villa here.

3. Alila Villas Uluwatu

If you’re looking for a jaw-dropping hotel redeemable with World of Hyatt points, the wow factor doesn’t get much better than the Alila Villas Uluwatu, an exclusive luxury resort with panoramic views on Bali’s limestone cliffs. A short 30-minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), this resort will guarantee undisturbed privacy.

Each villa starts at 3,000 square feet large and is appointed with 1 king or 2 twin beds. You’ll live like royalty here, whether it’s with your private pool, private cabana, private terrace, or 24-hour butler service.

There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating areas, plus coffee machines, outdoor dining areas, blackout curtains, high-tech air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and a spa bathroom.

The spa bathroom has double vanities, a deep soaking tub, bathrobes, slippers, branded bath and body products, and all of the amenities you’d expect.

While you’re visiting, enjoy authentic Balinese delicacies at The Warung, international favorites at CIRE, or light bites and cocktails at Sunset Cabana Bar.

This elite resort averages around $1,100 per night with low-season rates starting at around $900. If you happen to book a paid stay during the peak season, you’ll have to up your budget to around $1,400 per night.

4. Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas

Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas is located in beautiful sunny Southern California along one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline atop an oceanside bluff.

Located near beautiful Carlsbad, this property happens to be just 1 mile from Interstate 5, 6 miles from LEGOLAND California, and a 3-minute walk from South Carlsbad State Beach.

Each of the standard rooms measures at least 437 square feet large with 1 king bed and a furnished patio or balcony, plus a flat-screen TV, a sitting area with 2 lounge chairs and a table, a coffee and tea station, and a minibar.

Relaxed and bright bathrooms include a single vanity, a walk-in rainfall shower, and luxury amenities.

There are 3 dining options here, plus Spa Alila and plenty of other bookable activities beyond lounging on the beach. Be sure to check out the outdoor pool with bar service, too!

Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas is also a World of Hyatt Category 8 property commanding 35,000 points per off-peak night, 40,000 per standard night, and 45,000 per peak night.

If you paid cash for your stay at this property, you’d easily spend $1,000 per night on the room rate alone. On some low-season dates, you can find rooms for $900 per night, but these are exceedingly rare. During the high season, rates exceed $1,500 per night, which would make for incredible redemption value.

5. The Diwa Club by Alila

Within India’s Goa state, there are 2 Alila properties. Alila Diwa Goa is the main resort, while The Diwa Club by Alila is the exclusive resort within a resort you’ll want to book if you’re looking for posh luxury and superb redemption value.

The standard Diwa Club room immerses you in tranquility, starting with the plush king bed and private furnished balcony. You’ll enjoy views of the Diwa pool and garden here to go along with your 710 square feet of personal space.
