Let’s take a look at the details.

AA Adds More World Cup Flights

The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 11, 2026, and American Airlines can bring fans to any of the 16 host cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

American has announced that it will add 27,000 seats, including more flights and higher-capacity aircraft, to meet demand for most of the matches.

Use Miles for Match Tickets

American Airlines saw big success with its first round of World Cup ticket redemptions using AAdvantage miles and is planning another opportunity to snag exclusive access.

AAdvantage members will have early access to redeem miles for match tickets based on their elite status level:

  • December 17: AAdvantage Executive Platinum status and ConciergeKey members
  • December 18: AAdvantage Gold, AAdvantage Platinum, and AAdvantage Platinum Pro status members
  • December 19: All AAdvantage members

Members can secure their tickets on the American Airlines Vacation website.

Hot Tip:

American Airlines elite status can be extremely valuable even if you aren’t using it to score World Cup tickets!

Final Thoughts

Whether you have tickets for the first or the final match, American Airlines will have more and bigger planes flying to host cities to make sure you can watch the action in person. And you can even use your hard-earned AAdvantage miles to pay for match tickets, if you want.

If you have elite status, set a reminder, as early access for tickets starts on December 17.
