Everyone wants to go to Italy, and American Airlines wants to be the airline that takes you there.

The Dallas-based carrier has scheduled more routes to Naples (NAP), Rome (FCO), and Venice (VCE) starting in May 2025 in time for the summer travel season.

“As Italy continues to remain popular for summertime travel, American is making it easier than ever for customers to shop, dine or unwind in their favorite destinations,” said Brian Znotins, senior vice president of network and schedule planning at American.

Here’s more on American Airlines’ Italian network expansion.

American’s Increased Italian Route Network

2025 is the summer of amore italiano for American Airlines, which will operate a total of 12 nonstop services between the U.S. and Italy throughout the season.

Included in the increased frequency of flights are 2 brand-new routes: Chicago (ORD) to Naples and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Venice.

American will be the only carrier operating nonstop service between these city pairs, with schedules as follows:

Tickets for the new services will be available for purchase via aa.com or the airline’s app from November 4.

Additionally, American is bringing forward the launch of its previously-announced route from Miami (MIA) to Rome (FCO). Originally slated to inaugurate on July 5, the service will now start a month earlier on June 5, 2025.

American will deploy its Boeing 777-200 on this route.

Rome appears to be a particular focus for American, as it will launch a second daily service from Philadelphia (PHL) as of June 5. The flights will be operated by a combination of the Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners.

Hot Tip:

Look no further than the W Rome if a luxurious city break is what you’re looking for.

Travelers from across the country will benefit from American’s new routes, thanks to the transfer possibilities at its Charlotte, Chicago, and Philadelphia hubs.

Final Thoughts

Italy is always a good idea. Thanks to American Airlines, all the pizza, pasta, and Peroni you could wish for is closer than ever before next summer.

Whether it’s soaking up the history of Rome, the romance of Venice, or the sunshine on the Costa Amalfi, American has you covered.
