Effective immediately, cardmembers of the Amex Business Platinum card will earn 5x Membership Rewards points not just on flights and prepaid hotels, but also on 2 exciting new categories:

• Short-term vacation rentals booked via AmexTravel.com
• Prepaid flight and hotel packages booked at AmexTravel.com

While AmexTravel.com is best known as a portal for booking flights and traditional hotel stays — especially through its Fine Hotels + Resorts and Hotel Collection programs — it also offers access to vacation rentals through select travel partners.

This lesser-known feature gives Amex Business Platinum cardmembers the flexibility to book alternative accommodations, like private homes, villas, and short-term rentals — now with the ability to earn 5x points for these reservations.

To take advantage of the 5x earning rate for these new categories, simply make your prepaid bookings via AmexTravel.com.

Unfortunately, reservations made directly through platforms such as Airbnb or Vrbo are not eligible for the 5x points earning rate. You must book through AmexTravel.com to get the 5x earnings; otherwise, you’ll earn 1x.
