Amex Adds New AI Perks for Small Business Cardholders With Perplexity

American Express is adding new AI-focused perks for its U.S. small-business cardholders.

Starting today, U.S. American Express small business cardholders can access a new library of AI-powered Perplexity Skills, while a new Amex Offer can provide $125 back on a qualifying Perplexity subscription. There’s also an opportunity to pick up 1,000 bonus Perplexity Computer Credits.

Here’s what eligible cardholders need to know.

Here’s What You Can Do With the New Perplexity Benefits

Amex Business cardholders now have access to a collection of prebuilt AI tools, called Skills, within Perplexity Computer. In a nutshell, these are ready-made workflows that can help with some of the everyday tasks that come with running a business.

For example, you can use them to forecast cash flow or put together a marketing campaign rather than starting from scratch and figuring out exactly what to ask the AI to do. There is a catch, though. You need a paid Perplexity Enterprise Pro or Enterprise Max subscription to use these Skills, and both subscriptions automatically renew.

Additionally, Amex is sweetening the deal with a couple of limited-time perks. From October 1, 2026, through March 29, 2027, cardholders can get a one-time bonus of 1,000 Perplexity Computer Credits after you purchase or renew an eligible Perplexity Enterprise subscription (enrollment required).

There’s also a targeted Amex Offer that can save eligible Amex Business Platinum cardholders money on that subscription. After enrolling, you get a $125 statement credit after spending $325 or more on a Perplexity Enterprise Pro or Enterprise Max plan by March 29, 2027 (enrollment required).

The purchase must be made directly through Perplexity’s Enterprise website using your enrolled card. Purchases made in-app or through an app store don’t qualify.

For reference, Enterprise Pro currently costs $40 per month or $400 per year, while Enterprise Max costs $325 per month or $3,250 per year. If you choose the $400 annual Enterprise Pro plan and have the Amex Offer, you’d have spent enough to trigger the $125 credit, effectively bringing your first-year cost down to $275.
