For those of us (including me, yes) who’ve never flown business class or first class with Etihad, a new promotion recently caught my eye. If you’ve got an Amex card, you could save up to 10% on Etihad flights.

Maybe, just maybe, that makes now a great time to try Etihad’s renowned first class and business class flying experience. What kind of prices are available to test out these luxurious products? Here’s how you could fly Etihad business class from $321 or first class from $1,265.

Recap of Amex-Etihad Promotion

A current Etihad promotion offers up to 10% off flights if you have American Express card. The discount only applies to flights operated by Etihad, and the discount is up to a maximum of 10%.

To qualify, you need to book and fly by December 31, 2024. Moreover, the 10% discount only applies to flights that start and end beyond the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Otherwise, you’ll get just a 5% discount if you’re starting or ending in Etihad’s home country. This deal applies to Economy Value, Choice Plus, Business Value, Choice, Choice Plus, and First fares.

Lastly, you need to book this promotion through a special website, etihad.com/amexoffer.

Bottom Line:

You need to have an American Express card and use the first 4 digits from it to access the sale. Then, you must use an Amex card to pay for the flights to lock in the discount, assuming you book and fly by December 31, 2024.

Booking Etihad Business Class With This Promotion

Since this promotion only applies to paid fares, I originally dismissed it. I’m not sure about you, but I don’t have the money to pay for Etihad’s flights from the U.S., which can easily cost $10,000.

However, I later remembered that Etihad often has attractive fares on shorter routes, such as flights within the Middle East. A booking with 2 short flights could trigger the 10% discount and provide a great way to sample Etihad’s business and first class.

How does an itinerary from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (JED) through Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Mumbai, India (BOM) sound when it comes with a $321.44 price tag in business class? The first flight is on a narrowbody Airbus A220 aircraft, but the second flight has Etihad’s A350 business class.

Admittedly, you’re only getting just over 3 hours in Etihad’s widebody business class on the flight from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai. Maybe you want some more time in the air to soak it in.

Here’s an option for $691.29 offering more than 7 hours in Etihad’s A380 business class, which we rank among the best international business class products. You’ll fly from Cairo, Egypt (CAI) to Abu Dhabi aboard an A321neo before connecting onward to Paris. Ignore the first class prices on this deal, though, because we’ve got something better below.

Plus, you can maximize your ground time with this option. Stopovers and multi-city bookings aren’t permitted with this sale, but you’ll get either 5 or 15 hours in Abu Dhabi, depending on the itinerary you choose. That’s enough time to explore Abu Dhabi itself or just soak up Etihad’s new first and business class lounges.

Booking Etihad First Class With This Promotion

What if you want to try Etihad’s famous first class Apartment? This deal can help you with that, as well.

Here’s an option departing Doha, Qatar (DOH) and connecting through Abu Dhabi to Mumbai, India (BOM) for $1,265 per person. You’ll fly in business class for about an hour on the first flight, then you’ll get 3 hours in the sky to wine and dine — maybe even take a shower — in first class on Etihad’s A380.

Again, that’s not a ton of time to experience all that first class has to offer. Let’s find an option with more time to really pamper yourself.

There are multiple options to fly from Jeddah through Abu Dhabi to London (LHR) for $3,464 per passenger. However, you want to choose the flight that lands at 6:45 p.m. This flight uses the A380, which includes the Apartment. Otherwise, you’ll get the seat-style first class on Etihad’s Boeing 787-9.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve got travel flexibility and can get to the Middle East or India, you can find some great deals on Etihad’s business and first class through this current promotion for Amex cardholders. Obviously, getting yourself to the starting point for these deals requires some effort, but the savings might be worth it when you consider how expensive Etihad’s premium products can be to or from the U.S. and how difficult it can be to find award space on those flights.

For those looking to sample Etihad’s premium cabins, you have until December 31, 2024, to book and fly. We found seats in business class starting at $321 and first class starting at $1,265.
