Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

American Express has launched a new promotion that allows customers to save money on Lyft ride-sharing purchases. Now through August 15, 2024, you can get $15 back as a statement credit when you spend $50 or more on Lyft.

Here are the details of this new Amex Offer.

New Amex Offer: Lyft

There’s a new targeted Amex Offer available for Lyft purchases. You can get $15 back as a statement on Lyft ride-sharing purchases of $50 or more through August 15, 2024.

You must add this Amex Offer to your card before making a purchase.

Of course, there’s some fine print you’ll want to keep in mind:

  • The offer expires on August 15, 2024.
  • The card that has the offer on it must be linked to your Lyft account, and this is the card that needs to be charged.
  • This offer is only valid for Lyft ride-sharing services.
  • This offer only applies to U.S.-issued cards for transactions in the U.S. charged in USD.
  • This offer can only be applied to 1 account per cardmember, even if the offer is available on multiple cards.

If you have a card that offers elevated earning rates on Lyft purchases, like the American Express® Green Card*, which offers 3x points on all travel, including Lyft, you have the potential to rack up points rapidly while utilizing the service.

Is This a Good Deal?

This is a very good Amex Offer for Lyft rides. Many users of the ride-sharing service can easily take advantage of this offer and receive the  $15 statement credit. This is especially valuable in big cities like New York, where a Lyft ride from any New York-area airport to Manhattan often costs more than $50.
