Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

If you have an American Express card (or more than 1), you’re going to want to check your account because there’s a great new offer for cash-back on purchases with ResortPass.

Here’s a look at everything you need to know.

Amex Offer Details

From now through September 30, 2023, you can earn a $20 statement credit after spending $100 or more in purchases online at resortpass.com or through the ResortPass mobile app (iOS, Android). Purchases must be made in U.S. dollars.

You’ll want to check all American Express cards you may have, as this offer could pop up on any of them.

ResortPass is a relatively under-the-radar service that allows you to purchase access to certain amenities at a hotel or resort in your local area (or an area you’re traveling to) without being an overnight guest. Access is granted on a daily basis and the level of access you’ll receive will depend on the property and availability.

We ran a search for Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Miami Beach, Florida. Several hotels offer day passes, though not all of them are priced high enough to trigger this Amex Offer.

There are 2 ways around this — if you’re with a companion, you could choose to purchase 2 (or more) day passes through ResortPass to trigger the credit.

Alternatively, if you happen to be alone, you could choose a property that has a higher-priced day pass, such as the oceanfront Eden Roc Miami Beach, which is offering day pass access for $100 per person through ResortPass.

Whichever route you choose, keep in mind that ResortPass charges additional taxes and fees (which will count toward the Amex Offer threshold). Also, be sure to pay for your day pass(es) with the card to which you added the Amex Offer in order to be eligible.

What Are Amex Offers?

Amex Offers are deals through which you can earn either statement credits or Membership Rewards points for purchases. This is an easy way to earn Amex Membership Rewards points or cash-back on purchases you already have to make.

However, these deals are not automatically loaded to your card; you have to add them manually. Also, keep in mind that many offers are targeted. That means while you may see an offer on one Amex card, you may not see the same offer on another.

Final Thoughts

This is an interesting opportunity to save some money on a unique service. ResortPass offers a compelling product that could be appealing to a lot of travelers who desire to use the facilities of certain properties without spending money on the nightly room rate.

If you want to take advantage, be sure to do so before September 30, 2023!
