Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

There’s a great new Amex Offer available that can earn you a significant amount of money back on your next cruise purchase! When you spend $700 or more on your next Princess Cruise, you’ll get $175 back in the form of a statement credit, or, for some cardholders, 17,500 Membership Rewards points. It’s the perfect excuse to escape the cold and cruise somewhere room with these fantastic savings!

Amex Offers

Amex Offers are available on almost all American Express cards. Simply log in to your mobile app or the American Express website, and scroll to the Amex Offers tab. You’ll see a list of offers for each of your cards, and you’ll be able to add whichever offers appeal to you to that card. Keep in mind that most Amex Offers are targeted, so you may not see the Princess Cruises offer on any of your cards.

Princess Cruises Savings

To qualify for the $175 statement credit or 17,500 Membership Rewards points, you need to spend $700 or more by February 15, 2024. Your cruise can be purchased directly through the Princess Cruises website, through the central reservations line at 800-774-6237, or a Princess Cruises travel agent.

It looks like some cardholders are targeted for the statement credit while others are targeted for the points, and there’s no way to choose which you can add to your card, though it’s worth checking all of your cards just to see if there are multiple variants of this offer available.

There are several exclusions, however, so you’ll want to be aware of these terms:

  • This offer excludes any “onboard purchases, transfers/transportation to the ship, gift, and services, parking fees at a port, online shop, cruise personalizer, Worldwide Emergency Assistance Services, special events in culinary arts, digital workshops, special entertainment venues, Formalwear Rentals, ‘Give a Guest a Gift,’ Princess EZair and motor coach program.”
  • Airfare booked through the cruise line, excursions, hotels, insurance, luggage assistance, and MedallionClass are eligible to count under this offer, but those add-ons need to be done with your initial purchase. You won’t be able to add them at a later time and have those count for any of the savings.
  • While Amex Offers usually allow multiple swipes to count to add up to the required amount, this offer explicitly states that it must be 1 single purchase.
Hot Tip:

If you’re short of reaching $700, sometimes you can preload onboard ship credit with your initial cruise purchase, so if it is done at the time of initial sale, you may have luck with that purchase adding to your total of $700.

Final Thoughts

Spending only $700 and receiving $175 back or 17,500 Membership Rewards points is a great savings for a cruise. Princess sails all across the Caribbean, Alaska, and Europe, so you’re sure to find somewhere fun to go to take advantage of these savings!
