Apple just dropped a slate of new products, from budget-friendly gadgets to powerful upgrades. And while tech fans have plenty to get excited about (and complain about), travelers might find a few standout features worth a closer look.

The tech giant unveiled its most affordable laptop ever, the MacBook Neo, the iPhone 17e, the updated iPad Air, and more. All of these new items are available for preorder and will begin shipping on March 11.

Let’s take a look at the details.

iPad Air

As part of its multi-day March event, Apple unveiled a refreshed iPad Air, which is great news for travelers who like to travel light and leave their laptop at home.

Whether for work or for streaming your favorite shows on your next flight, the refreshed iPad Air is now powered by the M4 chip, the same processor found in the current iPad Pro and MacBook Pro.

This upgrade promises a 30% boost in performance, plus the addition of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 helps with future proofing and high speeds for years to come.

With all-day battery life, multiple colors to choose from, and a Liquid Retina display, this is a great choice for travelers.

The iPad Air is available in 11″ and 13″ models starting at $599.

iPhone 17e

Although this event wasn’t as hyped up as the annual September Apple events, a new iPhone was announced. The iPhone 17e will be replacing the entry-level 16e.

Although the price may be entry-level, there is plenty to love about the iPhone 17e, thanks to a 48-megapixel camera, a 6.1-inch display with Ceramic Shield 2 protection, and an A19 chip for faster performance.

Plus, starting storage was doubled, and MagSafe charging was added — perfect for portable power banks, stands, travel wallets, and more. All for the same price as last year’s model.

The iPhone 17e comes in 3 different colors and starts at $599.

MacBook Neo

The biggest announcement from Apple was its long-awaited budget-friendly MacBook.

While Apple purists may turn up their noses at the tech specs of the MacBook Neo, this bare-bones (compared to its siblings) laptop will deliver on most day-to-day tasks and look good doing so.

With a 13″ Liquid Retina display, aluminum design, A18 Pro chip (normally found in iPhones), and up to 16 hours of battery life, this is a great option for students or travelers who want to be in the Apple ecosystem without paying MacBook Pro prices.

Plus, it only weighs 2.7 pounds, so it’s easy to slip into a backpack or carry-on.

The MacBook Neo comes in 4 different colors and starts at $599.

MacBook Pro

For those who need to put their laptops to a bit more work, there is good news for you, too.

Apple announced new MacBook Pro models with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max processors, enough to handle your heaviest tasks.

Whether you are coding, editing photos or videos from your latest trip, the new MacBook Pros now have an 18-core CPU (a bump up from the current 14 and 16-core options) and up to 24 hours of battery life — the longest ever in a Mac.

There is a long list of specs that you can geek out over here, but as you might expect, these big performance promises dont come cheap.

The MacBook Pro is available in 14″ and 16″ models in 2 colors, starting at $1,699, but can exceed $7,000 when optioned to the max.

Hot Tip:

The MacBook Air also got a new M5 chip, which could be a great option for those looking for performance but not necessarily at the levels of the MacBook Pro.

Studio Displays

Apple also announced 2 new monitors, the Studio Display and the Studio Display XDR.

These aren’t necessarily travel-friendly monitors, but for readers who do a lot of photo and video editing, this announcement likely piqued your interest, as it had been a few years since the last update.

These 5K monitors both feature 5,120 x 2,880 resolution on a 27″ display and have 12MP Center Stage cameras built in, Siri, 2 Thunderbolt 5 ports, and 2 USB-C ports.

The difference between the Studio Display and the Studio Display XDR comes down to how much you are willing to pay for extra LEDs. The Studio Display XDR features a miniLED display, which boosts the refresh rate to 120Hz (adaptive) compared to 60Hz on the Studio Display.

Prices start at $1,599 for the Studio Display and $3,299 for the Studio Display XDR.

Final Thoughts

Apple’s March 2026 announcements weren’t specifically about travel gear, but several of the tech giant’s new devices could be a great addition to your carry-on bag.

From the budget-friendly MacBook Neo to the improved features on the iPhone 17e, Apple continues to focus on great battery life, portability, and everyday usability — which is great news for travelers.

If any of these devices caught your eye, you can preorder now as delivery starts on March 11.
