Alaska Airlines has published its new flight-earning rates for its revamped Atmos Rewards programs, detailing how members will earn points and status under the program’s new Choose How You Earn system.

Beginning with flights departing on January 1, 2027, members will be able to earn in one of several ways for eligible Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and partner flights.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Atmos Rewards Earn Rates for Partner Flights

Alaska Airlines recently announced major changes to its Atmos Rewards, as part of its new Alaska Accelerate initiative.

This includes changes to how members would prefer to earn elite status, updates to its co-branded credit cards, new premium cabins, new transfer partners, and even a new Alaska Airlines debit card.

With the new earning structure, members have 3 ways to earn: distance traveled, price paid, or segments flown.

Now, Alaska has published its award rates for earning redeemable points and status points on partner airlines. Earning rates vary slightly based on which earn method you choose, at the following rates:

Existing Atmos Rewards members who do not make a selection will continue to earn based on distance traveled. New members joining on or after January 1, 2027, will default to price-based earning.

Hot Tip:

As of now, Starlux Airlines and Philippine Airlines flights booked via partner sites are not eligible to earn Atmos Rewards status points.

What This Means for Travelers

For travelers, the published rates make the way a flight is booked increasingly important. Partner flights booked through Alaska or Hawaiian offer higher earn rates than booking directly with the partner airline.

Travelers who frequently take shorter flights have the option of selecting segment-based earning, while those whose fares tend to be higher can consider the price-based model.

Final Thoughts

Alaska Airlines has published its earning rates for partner flights as part of its updated Atmos Rewards program. Members can now see how the new flexible earning system will work before their first eligible flights under the program.

The new system offers several earning options, and the value of each option will depend significantly on a traveler’s routes, fare class, booking channel, and overall flying habits.
