Low-cost Avelo Airlines has announced 6 new routes. The news comes after the carrier announced it would close all West Coast operations.

Let’s take a look at everything you should know.

Avelo’s 6 New Routes Start This Fall

After announcing the closure of its Burbank (BUR) hub last month, Avelo Airlines has some spare planes to play with.

Among the new routes, Avelo will connect Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) in North Carolina with 3 new cities and add a new route from Key West (EYW) in Florida.

Those living in and around Wilmington, North Carolina (ILM), should be particularly excited. Avelo will add 2 routes to the regional airport’s route network, including the airport’s first and only international service to Punta Cana (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic. These additions will bring Avelo’s total number of destinations served from Wilmington to 17.

Each of the 6 new routes will be unique to Avelo, making it the only airline offering these connections to U.S. travelers.

The table below provides specific details about each route. The Boeing 737, the only aircraft in the carrier’s fleet, will operate the new routes.

“These new routes offer our Customers even more choices, making it easier and more affordable than ever for our customers to get where they want to go,” said Andrew Levy, founder and CEO at Avelo Airlines.

Avelo is launching the new routes with introductory one-way fares starting at $57.

Hot Tip:

When booking a flight with Avelo Airlines, we recommend using one of the many travel credit cards that will reward you for your purchases.

Final Thoughts

It’s a great shame that Avelo had to shutter its West Coast operations. However, the plus side is that Avelo can maximize the newfound capacity in its fleet by expanding its route network on the East Coast with city pair connections that no other airline offers.
