Avelo’s 5-Year History

When it launched on April 28, 2021, Avelo became the first new U.S. airline in nearly 15 years.

Since then, Avelo has flown more than 9.3 million customers on more than 74,000 flights. The airline now has over 1,000 employees.

And while Avelo has definitely set some positive benchmarks — including new bases and becoming the first U.S. airline to buy and fly the Embraer 195-E2 aircraft — the past 12 months have been a busy, turbulent period for the carrier.
