Avelo will launch yet more exciting routes for the people of Connecticut.

The low-cost airline will add 4 new domestic routes from New Haven (HVN) and 1 international connection from Windsor Locks (BDL).

“Avelo’s purpose is to Inspire Travel, and we are very optimistic about the opportunities ahead of us to make air travel easier, more affordable and more dependable for people across Connecticut,” said Andrew Levy, Avelo’s CEO.

Here’s more on Avelo’s latest expansion.

Avelo Doubles Down on Connecticut

Last week, it was big news for North Carolina. This week, it’s Connecticut’s turn.

2025 will see 4 new routes from Avelo’s original base at New Haven and 1 new route from its recently announced new base at Windsor Locks.

These new routes will offer unique connections to destinations not currently served from these airports, reaffirming Avelo’s claim as “Connecticut’s Hometown Airline.”

Notable additions from New Haven include the major international airports of Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Detroit (DTW). That’s unique, as Avelo typically flies to underserved regional airports.

The inaugural flight to Punta Cana (PUJ) from Windsor Locks (BDL) on February 21 will mark the airline’s first time touching down in the Dominican Republic — beating the inaugural flight from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to Punta Cana by 1 day.

Given that Avelo opened its second Connecticut base with new routes at Windsor Locks just 1 month ago, this new international route suggests things are going well there for the Avelo.

All routes will be operated by Avelo’s fleet of Next Generation Boeing 737 aircraft. With just 20 aircraft in its fleet, it’s a wonder how long Avelo will be able to continue on this route network spree without adding more planes.

Hot Tip:

Avelo is a low-cost airline. That means you’ll pay extra for things like seat selection and inflight drinks and snacks. Take a look at our full guide to Avelo’s various fees to familiarize yourself before flying.

Final Thoughts

It’s great to see Avelo continue to go from strength to strength by connecting underserved airports, especially in Connecticut where there’s a lack of air connectivity.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on Avelo’s Connecticut domination.
