Avelo has announced the addition of 3 new routes to its East Coast network.

The airline chose February 15, 2024 — exactly 1 year after it established a base at Raleigh-Durham (RDU) — as the day to unveil the new routes, which will start in May 2024.

New routes will be from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to Albany (ALB) and to Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) from Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT) and Rochester, New York (ROC).

“We are excited to celebrate one year of base operations at RDU by adding three more popular routes to our East Coast network,” said Andrew Levy, Chairman and CEO at Avelo Airlines.

Here’s all the information you need to know about Avelo’s new routes.

Coming Soon to the Northeast: 3 New Avelo Routes

Avelo Airlines has been setting up bases around the U.S. over the last few years, with Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) being one of the most recent.

The announcement of 3 new routes, including one from RDU, is a testament to the airline’s success in the Research Triangle.

“We’re thrilled to add Albany, New York, to RDU’s growing list of nonstop destinations and support Avelo’s continued expansion,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO at Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.

Avelo will become the only airline to offer service on each of its 3 new routes. The start dates and frequencies are detailed below:

As with all of Avelo’s routes, its 3 new services will be operated by an all-economy Boeing 737 aircraft fitted out in a standard economy 3-3 configuration.

Tickets for the new routes through September 3, 2024, are available to book now at Avelo.com, with one-way fares starting at $62. Remember, bags aren’t included on the cheapest fares with ultra-low-cost airlines like Avelo.

Bottom Line:

Avelo is an ultra-low-cost airline that has been connecting underserved destinations with nonstop services since April 28, 2021. These routes often remove the need to make a connection, meaning travelers who use regional airports, such as Albany, Rockhampton, and Manchester, get a more streamlined travel experience.

Final Thoughts

Avelo Airlines has chosen to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of opening its base at Raleigh-Durham with 3 new routes. These routes will connect Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to Albany (ALB) and Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) with Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT) and Rochester, New York (ROC).

We hope to see Avelo continue expanding its route network by connecting underserved destinations with new nonstop services like these.
