Avis is rolling out a new service designed to make renting a car feel a little more convenient — and a lot more comfortable.

The company just introduced Avis First, a premium rental experience that includes curbside pickup, upgraded vehicles, and a personal concierge support, all aimed at simplifying the typical airport car rental process.

Avis First Is a Luxury Rental Option With Curbside Service and Upgraded Vehicles

Avis has introduced Avis First, a new service that offers a more streamlined, VIP-style rental experience — think curbside pickup with a concierge, no rental counter, and easy returns at departures without refueling the car.

Instead of taking a shuttle or navigating a crowded garage, travelers who book with Avis First will be greeted curbside by a concierge who has their vehicle ready to go.

The concierge helps with things like loading bags, getting you connected to CarPlay, and explaining vehicle features. When your trip ends, you simply hand the keys back at the terminal. There’s no need to fill up the tank beforehand. Even better, Avis will do that for you at the local market rate — not the typically inflated rate you pay for gas if you don’t full up the car.

Where Is Avis First Available?

You can already book Avis First in eligible markets. Just look for the clearly labeled Avis First option when searching for rentals on Avis.com.

The program is now available at select airport locations, including Denver, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Honolulu. It’s also launching in several urban markets, such as New York City, Hoboken, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Orlando, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.

According to Avis, this isn’t meant to replace the traditional rental process. Rather, it’s a new option for customers looking for a little more ease and comfort, whether they’re traveling for business or leisure. And while it comes with a premium cost, the service is designed to be broadly accessible, not limited to elite loyalty members.

“Avis First introduces a new level of ease and efficiency, delivering curbside service and premium vehicles exactly when and where travelers need them,” said Andres Barry, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Americas, Avis Budget Group. “It’s designed for those who expect more, with concierge-level service, elevated comfort and complete control over the journey.”
