The Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica is one of World of Hyatt’s most popular resorts.

This 1,400-acre eco resort property in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste region has everything you could want, but cash stays here don’t come cheap. That’s why we’re running to tell you about the widespread availability for award stays using Hyatt points.

Let’s take a closer look.

How To Book Andaz Papagayo With Points

Andaz is one of Hyatt’s hotel brands, so the property participates in the World of Hyatt program.

The Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica is a Category 8 World of Hyatt property, meaning award stays cost between 35,000 and 45,000 points per night, based on the peak and off-peak calendar.

However, cash rates at the Andaz Papagayo are regularly above $1,000 per night, so using points here provides great value. You’ll often get 2.5 cents per point on these redemptions — well above our average valuation of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each.

  • Points cost: 35,000 to 45,000 points per night for standard rooms
  • Cash cost: $1,000 or more per night
  • Travel dates: July to August, October to mid-December 2025, April to June 2026, plus spotty availability January to March 2026

How To Find Hyatt Award Availability

You can use several award search tools to help you find available dates. Sites like MaxMyPoint or Rooms.aero have calendar views that can help you find dates, pricing, and the comparable cash rate.

However, World of Hyatt also has a nice calendar function for points stays, showing you what various nights will cost — assuming they have availability. Unfortunately, this calendar only shows you a theoretical cost and doesn’t mean award stays are available. You’ll still need to click through and see what rooms are offered, if any.

Hot Tip:

You can earn World of Hyatt points with the hotel chain’s pair of co-branded credit cards, as well as 1:1 points transfers from Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards.

Final Thoughts

From now through June 2026, there’s solid award availability across multiple months at the Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica. This is one of the top hotels in the World of Hyatt program — both in terms of category rating and in terms of popularity.

If you’re looking for a great destination that you can book with points to save thousands of dollars, this is a great option. Plus, the widespread availability of awards means you should be able to find something that works with your busy calendar.
