If you’ve got Hong Kong or other cities in Asia on your travel Bingo card, we have great news. There’s some great award availability to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific, flying you to Asia in style and comfort.

Here are the details you need so you can get to booking these awards, which were brought to our attention by the folks at Roame.Travel.

Award Deal — Details

With these awards, you’ll fly on Cathay Pacific from the West Coast to the airline’s home base in Hong Kong (HKG). The airline has a renowned business-class product, thanks to great service from the crew.

Unfortunately, this alert is best for solo travelers and couples, as availability is limited to just 2 seats on most dates.

The best availability comes from the Cathay loyalty program, though you will find a few dates with availability through partners. For these, redeeming Finnair Avios provides the best price.

Cathay Pacific’s website doesn’t offer a monthly view of dates to help you track down these awards, though you can see a weekly view. While that feels limiting, the good news is that you can find tons of available dates from the West Coast from March to July 2026 — though that could change as people start booking these seats.

Flying from Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO), you’ll pay 88,000 miles per person each way, plus about $112 in taxes and fees. Total flight time is just over 14 hours to Hong Kong (HKG) from either San Francisco or Los Angeles.

Since cash prices for these flights are over $4,500 per person, booking with points and miles is definitely the way to go.

Best Ways To Book

Booking directly with Cathay Pacific will yield the highest number of results. However, if you want to get an overview of dates and availability across multiple routes at once, using a tool like Roame.Travel can help you see what’s available.

Select awards are also available through Finnair Plus, though available dates are about half what you’ll find booking through Cathay directly. With Finnair, you’ll pay 85,000 Avios per person from the West Coast, as well as paying slightly lower cash fees, so this presents the best option.

Other options include 3:1 transfers from Marriott Bonvoy and 3:2 transfers from Brex Rewards.

If you’re booking with Finnair, you have several options. You can transfer Capital One miles, Mesa Points, and Rove Miles to Finnair Plus at a 1:1 ratio.
