Cathay Pacific Asia Miles doesn’t offer a monthly view of dates to help you track down these awards, though you can see a weekly view. While that feels limiting, the good news is that you can’t throw a rock without hitting available awards from April to June 2025 — though that could change as people start booking these seats.

Flying from Los Angeles (LAX) or San Francisco (SFO), you’ll pay 84,000 miles per person each way, plus about $159 in taxes and fees. Total flight time is around 15.5 hours to Hong Kong (HKG).

Since cash prices for these flights are over $4,500 per person, booking with points and miles is definitely the way to go.

These awards are also available through Qantas Frequent Flyer, though available dates are about half what you’ll find booking through Cathay directly. With Qantas, you’ll pay 104,500 points per person, so Cathay presents the best option. Unfortunately, the websites for American Airlines and Alaska Airlines aren’t finding these awards right now.

You can transfer points from multiple programs to Cathay Pacific at a 1:1 ratio, including Amex Membership Rewards points, Bilt Rewards points, Capital One miles, and Citi ThankYou points. Other options include 3:1 transfers from Marriott Bonvoy and 3:2 transfers from Brex Rewards.
