O’ahu just welcomed its first new World of Hyatt hotels in nearly a decade with the opening of a dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House on the west side of the island.

While a Hyatt Place (or a Hyatt House) may not come to mind for a Hawaii vacation, these brand-new properties definitely deserve a closer look. The Hyatt Place and the Hyatt House Ho’opoli offer a great location without having to fight the busy Waikiki Beach crowds.

As Category 5 properties, award rates can cost as much as 35,000 points on peak dates, though the Upgraded Points team has found dozens of dates available at the Low 20,000-point rate. Here’s why you should book these hotels quickly.

Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Ho’opili Award Availability

The Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Ho’opili officially opened their doors this summer. These properties share a lobby in a 5-story building, with the former offering 108 guest rooms and the latter with 132 rooms with built-in kitchens and separate living areas.

We’re seeing wide-open award availability at both properties for almost the next year — from September 2026 to June 2027 — at 20,000 points per night. This rate applies to both 1 King Bed and 2 Queen Bed rooms, with the latter accommodating up to 4 adults. It’s rare to see that low rate so widely available, since most properties tend to price up for peak travel periods.

Guests at both hotels receive complimentary breakfast, and there’s even a light-rail stop just steps from the property that takes you to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and Pearl Harbor. It’s another 10-minute drive away from Ewa Beach.

On October 1, 2026, those who opened the Chase Sapphire Preferred^® Card and Ink Business Preferred^® Card before June 15, 2026, will see their Hyatt transfer ratio drop to 4:3. After that date, only Chase Sapphire Reserve^® or the Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ cardholders will retain the 1:1 transfer ratio.

If you’re planning a Hawaii vacation and are impacted by this upcoming devaluation, you’ll want to transfer points you need to World of Hyatt before the deadline. Once the 4:3 ratio for Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders who have had their cards since before June 15, 2026, takes effect, an award night that costs 20,000 points will require 27,000 Chase points instead. That difference can add up quickly over a multi-night stay.
