Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

A week after New Year’s Day, you’re probably going to be out of Champagne. So why not get your refill in Paris?

If you’ve got the Flying Blue miles, you can currently book a flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Paris (CDG) for as few as 20,000 miles plus $64 in economy on Air France.

Here’s what you need to know for your post-New Year’s bubbly run.

Fare Details

Normally, Flying Blue round-trip tickets from the U.S. to Europe don’t dip below 50,000 miles plus about $120 to $240 in taxes and fees. So, assuming you book both the original and return tickets at 20,000 miles each, you’re getting a savings of at least 10,000 miles total — and as much as 50% off the usual taxes and fees.

It’s worth noting that, during this period, other nonstop, one-way Air France flights in economy on this route can climb as high as 74,000 miles.

We value Flying Blue miles at 1.2 cents per mile, so paying 20,000 miles means you’re getting your ticket for the equivalent of $240 — or the same as you’d normally pay just for taxes and fees on a round-trip ticket.

But don’t start packing yet! Here’s what you should know before you book:

  • The fare prices are for one-way, direct flights.
  • To book these flights, you must pay for your fare using Flying Blue miles, but there are additional taxes and fees, which are expressed as cash amounts.
  • At the time of our searches, we found availability on dates from January 9, 2024, to February 28, 2024, but not every day in that period.
  • These prices are specifically for flights from Los Angeles International Airport to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport on Air France.

To book this flight, follow these instructions:

Final Thoughts

This is a reasonably good offer that lets you trade the City of Angels for the City of Light during the winter for less than usual — but Flying Blue can offer even better deals. Flying Blue posts monthly Promo Rewards that can be quite generous, so if you’ve missed out on this deal or if you don’t see a route you like, you can check in at the beginning of the month to see what’s new on offer.

Still, if you’re itching to replenish your supply of sparkling wine and are craving a freshly baked baguette, you may want to check what you’ve got in your Flying Blue account.
