Johannesburg’s long-awaited Park Hyatt is finally on the books for a July 1, 2025 debut, and it promises to be special: the reborn, jacaranda-lined property in Rosebank will have just 31 rooms, making it the smallest Park Hyatt in the world.

Despite its small size, the hotel is showing wide-open award availability through the end of the calendar, all the way until July 2026.

Even better, most dates are priced at the standard rate of just 25,000 World of Hyatt points per night, with peak pricing only showing up around the Christmas holiday. With so much availability, it’s easy to pick dates that work for you and lock in a stay.

Let’s take a look.

Book the Park Hyatt Johannesburg With Points

The Park Hyatt Johannesburg is a Category 6 World of Hyatt property, which means you’ll spend between 21,000 and 29,000 World of Hyatt points per night to stay here.

Yet almost every date we checked is priced at 25,000 points per night — Hyatt’s standard rate for a Category 6 hotel — with the only exception being the week between Christmas and New Year’s, when rates jump to the peak level of 29,000 points.

Hyatt often loads new hotels at the low end of the range to encourage early bookings, so don’t be surprised if peak rates surface once the hotel builds a booking rhythm.

Cash pricing for the hotel’s first few months of opening averages at around $500 for a standard King. These rates result in a value of roughly 2 cents per point, well above our valuation of World of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents apiece.

How To Find Award Availability

To quickly search for award availability, tools like Rooms.aero or MaxMyPoint‘s calendar view come in handy — we used them to spot wide-open availability from July 2025 to July 2026.

Using your Hyatt points at a brand-new 5-star property like the Park Hyatt Johannesburg can be a smart alternative to shelling out hundreds in cash. For those who value luxury without the high out-of-pocket cost, this kind of redemption is tough to beat.

Final Thoughts

If you’re planning a trip to South Africa in the next year, you can book the Park Hyatt Johannesburg for 25,000 points per night, with award nights available almost every night.

With just 31 rooms and Park Hyatt representing the pinnacle of luxury in the World of Hyatt portfolio, this is a property you’ll want to book sooner rather than later — especially if you’re planning to spend a few nights in Johannesburg.
