Vancouver is a popular summer vacation spot and an embarkation port for many Alaska cruises, so travelers based on the West Coast will be delighted to know that they can fly there from Los Angeles during peak travel season for under 10,000 miles!

Here are the details, including how to book this award.

Award Alert — The Details

During the summer of 2024, you can fly from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Vancouver (YVR) for just 9,700 Air Canada Aeroplan points plus CA $37 (~$27) in taxes and fees. Even better, we found dates with as many as 6 seats available.

  • Class: Economy
  • Route: Los Angeles (LAX) to Vancouver (YVR)
  • Dates: Summer 2024 – June 4, 11, 18, 25; July 2, 9, 16, 30; August 13, 20, 27

You may notice that some days are available for just 9,000 miles. That may seem like a better deal at first glance, but once you look closer, you’ll see that this option has an almost 12-hour layover in Seattle. In addition, the direct flight for 9,700 miles had up to 6 available seats on multiple days — making this a great option for families.

This award shows why it’s so important to check flight prices on multiple websites. If you started your search on United’s website, you’d see this same flight (Air Canada and United are both part of Star Alliance) for 16,500 United miles.

While that’s not bad, simply purchasing the flight through Air Canada saves almost 7,000 miles per ticket although the taxes and fees are a bit higher through Air Canada.

There are even more options if you are willing to pay a bit more. On numerous days throughout the summer, this flight (plus flights at other times of the day) from Los Angeles to Vancouver was available for just 12,900 points + CA $37 (~$27). Business class is available for as few as 23,800 points + CA $37 (~$27), plus there was business class availability for up to 7 people for a slightly higher price.

Other options for Air Canada Award
Bottom Line:

Air Canada Aeroplan has multiple options to fly from Los Angeles to Vancouver during the summer of 2024. You can book a flight for as few as 9,700 points with availability for up to 6 people on some days. Business class is available for 23,800 points.

How To Get More Air Canada Aeroplan Points

One of the things that makes this an exciting award is that it’s very easy to earn Air Canada Aeroplan points. In addition to flying and spending on the Aeroplan® Credit Card, you can transfer points from any of the following programs into Air Canada.

Final Thoughts

There are some great options to fly to Vancouver from Los Angeles next summer. You can get there for as few as 9,700 Aeroplan points in economy, with many days offering space for up to 6 people. Business class is available for as few as 23,800 points.

This is great news for families looking to fly to Vancouver economically — especially since these awards are available during peak travel season when many Alaska cruises leave from this vibrant city.
