Cities With the Most Businesses Overall Accepting Apple Pay

Apple Pay has cemented itself as a consumer favorite, combining speed, security, and convenience in 1 seamless transaction. Businesses across the U.S. have quickly adopted this contactless payment method, catering to tech-savvy customers who prefer to pay with a simple tap. However, certain cities have gone above and beyond, leading the way in Apple Pay adoption and creating a cash-free ecosystem that’s second to none.

At the top of the list is Los Angeles, where 1,131 businesses accept Apple Pay. As a sprawling metropolis with a diverse mix of industries, LA’s high ranking reflects its status as both a technological hub and a major consumer market. Following closely is New York City, with 1,127 businesses offering this option, a testament to the Big Apple’s bustling economy and constant flow of tourists and locals seeking quick, secure payment methods. San Francisco, known for its tech-forward culture, ranks third with 1,068 businesses, underscoring its role as a trendsetter in digital payment adoption.

Chicago and Washington, D.C., round out the top 5, boasting 941 and 791 businesses, respectively. Both cities showcase unique trends that drive Apple Pay adoption: Chicago’s emphasis on convenience and innovation in its retail and restaurant scenes, and D.C.’s high concentration of professionals and tourists who demand efficient payment options. Together, these cities demonstrate how diverse economic and cultural factors contribute to a widespread embrace of cashless technologies, making them ideal destinations for those looking to navigate the future of payments seamlessly.

Cities With the Most Businesses Overall Accepting Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency is no longer just a niche interest — it’s rapidly becoming a viable payment option for American businesses. From trendy cafes to tech-driven startups, an increasing number of establishments are embracing cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, signaling a shift toward decentralized, digital-first transactions. While adoption rates remain modest compared to traditional digital payments, certain cities are leading the way in making crypto payments mainstream.

Phoenix tops the list with 37 businesses accepting cryptocurrency, reflecting the city’s growing reputation as a hub for tech innovation and entrepreneurship. San Francisco follows closely with 36 businesses, which is unsurprising given its position at the heart of Silicon Valley, where tech-forward solutions are the norm. Las Vegas is third with 35 businesses, driven partly by its dynamic entertainment and hospitality industries that attract tech-savvy tourists.

Interestingly, 2 cities tie for fourth place — San Jose, California, and Miami — each with 32 businesses accepting cryptocurrency. San Jose, located in the Bay Area, continues the region’s tech dominance, while Miami has emerged as a rising star in the crypto world, hosting major blockchain conferences and fostering a community of crypto-friendly businesses. Finally, Los Angeles and New York share the fifth spot, with 29 businesses each.

These findings show how both established tech hubs and emerging innovators are making cryptocurrency a part of everyday transactions. For consumers, these cities represent the forefront of digital finance, offering a glimpse into how decentralized payments are becoming easier, more accessible, and seamlessly integrated into daily commerce.
