Breeze Airways is set to introduce 4 new routes to and from Washington, D.C.’s Dulles International Airport (IAD). Among these, 3 of the routes lacked nonstop service from the nation’s capital.

Breeze Airways was also awarded its first Essential Air Service contract, connecting Ogdensburg, New York (OGS) with IAD with daily flights starting later this month.

Here’s what travelers should know about these new routes and the corresponding discounts Breeze is offering as a celebration.

New Breeze Routes From Washington Dulles

Breeze Airways now covers Washington, D.C., serving Dulles International Airport (IAD) on 4 new routes. This makes Breeze the 45th airline at IAD, and the launch includes the airline’s first Essential Air Services contract, plus 3 other routes that didn’t have nonstop service to D.C. until now.

Breeze will fly between Washington, D.C. and the following cities, with the following schedule and start dates:

“We are excited for Breeze Airways to become the 45th airline at Washington Dulles International. Breeze will give local travelers access to three previously unserved markets from the Washington, D.C., region while bringing nonstop service back to upstate New York. With these new flights, Dulles will reinforce its position as the airport with the most nonstop destinations of any airport in the region.”

Paul Bobson, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority vice president for airline business development

The service to Ogdensburg, New York will serve a smaller community on the Canadian border, served through an Essential Air Services contract under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding.

“I fought to secure an increase in funding for the Essential Air Service Program in this year’s FAA bill because I know how important it is for our smaller communities to stay connected to a key hub and the national travel network. This decision is a win-win-win for Breeze, Ogdensburg, and the North Country’s economy,” said Senator Chuck Schumer of New York.

Hot Tip:

Breeze Airways has expanded significantly in 2024. Adding another flight to and from Vero Beach, Florida makes sense, as Breeze is establishing a base of operations in Vero Beach starting in October.

Final Thoughts

Breeze Airways is expanding again, launching flights from an airport it hadn’t previously served. Breeze will fly to 4 destinations from Washington-Dulles, with the first route kicking off in late September.
