Copa Airlines is based in Panama and serves destinations throughout the Americas. While you might not be familiar with its ConnectMiles program, now is a good time to learn, as it’s offering a sale on miles with up to a 45% discount.

Copa Airlines is a Star Alliance member, meaning you could use these miles to fly not just on Copa Airlines but also on United Airlines, Air Canada, Lufthansa, and more. And right now, you can buy Copa ConnectMiles with up to a 45% discount — but is it worth it?

Let’s take a look at the details to help you decide.

Buy Copa Miles Promotion Details

With the current promotion, you can buy Copa ConnectMiles for as little as 1.65 cents each. While buying points and miles doesn’t always make sense, it can be a good idea in 2 situations:

  • When you’re just short of the miles needed for a redemption
  • When you’re planning to pay cash for a flight, but the cost of buying the required miles is cheaper

The current promotion has a tiered discount, meaning you’ll get a better deal if you buy more miles:

  • Buy 3,000 to 9,000 miles to get a 25% discount (2.25 cents each)
  • Buy 10,000 to 15,000 miles to get a 35% discount (1.95 cents each)
  • Buy 15,000+ miles to get a 45% discount (1.65 cents each)

There’s no bonus if you buy less than 3,000 miles.

Here are some important details you should know about the current offer to buy ConnectMiles:

  • The promotion is valid from now through February 22, 2025
  • You can purchase up to 100,000 miles
  • Must buy in increments of 1,000 miles
  • Link to purchase miles online

This isn’t the best deal we’ve seen on Copa miles — in late 2024, the airline sold miles as low as 1.58 cents apiece — but it’s one of the better deals we’ve seen over the years.

Hot Tip:

Points.com processes Copa miles purchases, so you’ll want to use a credit card that maximizes everyday spending, such as many cards issued by Capital One.

Is It Worth It?

Copa Airlines isn’t the most popular airline in the world of points and miles, but that doesn’t mean the ConnectMiles program doesn’t offer value. Thanks to a fixed award chart that doesn’t go up and down with demand or holidays, it’s easy to know how many miles you need for a redemption.

Copa uses 1 award chart for its own flights and another for its partners. You can view the award chart for Copa flights here, with Saver awards costing less than Standard awards. The much bigger award chart for partner flights is available here.

Examples of Copa ConnectMiles awards you might consider include:

  • Flights within the U.S. or Canada for 12,500 miles per person in economy
  • U.S. and Canada to Central America or the Caribbean for 17,500 miles per person in economy
  • From the U.S. or Canada to northern South America for 20,000 miles per person in economy or 40,000 in business
  • U.S. and Canada to southern South America for 30k in economy or 60k in business
  • U.S. and Canada to Europe for 30k in economy, 70k in business, or 110k in first class
  • From the U.S. or Canada to Africa or the Middle East for 80k in business class
  • U.S. and Canada to Japan for 75k in business or 110k in first class

If you book flights on Copa Airlines, you can fly from the U.S. to Panama for 17.5k in economy or 30k in business. And now that Seats.aero supports Copa ConnectMiles, finding awards can be even easier than before.

Final Thoughts

Copa Airlines is selling ConnectMiles with up to a 45% discount, assuming you buy at least 15,000 miles. At best, you’ll pay just 1.65 cents per mile between now and February 22, 2025.

Buying miles won’t always make sense, but it can provide good value when you’re just short on miles or planning on paying cash anyway. This offer could save you money if you find something that works for your upcoming travels.
