Capital One has added Copa Airlines ConnectMiles as its newest transfer partner, giving cardholders another way to use their miles for flights across the Americas and beyond. You can travel from 17 U.S. cities to 65+ destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean on Copa Airlines, plus 1,150+ worldwide destinations with Star Alliance, by transferring your points to ConnectMiles.

Additionally, to commemorate the new partnership, there’s a limited-time 30% transfer bonus available through December 1, 2026.

Here’s what to know about the new partnership, the limited-time 30% transfer bonus, and some of the ways you can redeem ConnectMiles.

How Capital One’s 30% Copa ConnectMiles Transfer Bonus Works

Capital One Miles can now be transferred directly to Copa Airlines’ ConnectMiles loyalty program.

The standard transfer ratio is 2:1.5 which means you’ll get 750 ConnectMiles for every 1,000 Capital One miles transferred.

To celebrate the new partnership, Capital One is offering a 30% transfer bonus through December 1, 2026. This improves the transfer ratio to 1,000 Capital One miles for 975 ConnectMiles, bringing it pretty close to 1:1.

For example, if you were to transfer 50,000 Capital One miles during this promotion, you would receive 48,750 ConnectMiles instead of the usual 37,500. That’s an extra 11,250 miles for the same number of Capital One miles.

Copa ConnectMiles Are Becoming Easier To Earn

Capital One isn’t the only credit card program to recently add Copa ConnectMiles as a new transfer partner. On October 25, 2026, Citi ThankYou Rewards also added Copa as a transfer partner, giving cardholders more ways to earn miles with the Panama-based airline. ConnectMiles also partners with Rove Miles and Marriott Bonvoy, though transfer ratios vary.

Until recently, there weren’t many ways to earn ConnectMiles without flying, purchasing miles, or engaging with shopping partners. Now, travelers have several additional options, including transferring points from 2 major U.S. credit card rewards programs.

Some of the Best Ways To Use Copa ConnectMiles

You don’t necessarily need to fly Copa Airlines to get value from ConnectMiles. Copa is a member of Star Alliance, which means you can redeem miles for flights with partners such as United Airlines, Air Canada, Lufthansa, and ANA.

The program also uses a fixed award chart, which means you know exactly how many miles an award flight should cost, providing availability exists.

Here are a few one-way award redemptions worth knowing about:

  • Within the U.S. or Canada: 12,500 miles in economy
  • U.S. or Canada to Central America or the Caribbean: 15,000 miles in economy or 30,000 in business class
  • U.S. or Canada to northern South America: 20,000 miles in economy or 40,000 in business class
  • U.S. or Canada to Europe: 30,000 miles in economy or 70,000 in business class
  • U.S. or Canada to Japan: 75,000 miles in business class or 110,000 in first class

If you’d rather fly Copa itself, one-way flights from the U.S. to Panama start at 17,500 miles in economy or 30,000 miles in business class.

There’s another perk worth mentioning, too. Copa offers a stopover program that lets flyers spend up to 15 days in Panama before continuing to their final destination, without paying for additional airfare. This opens the opportunity to visit 2 destinations for the price of 1.

Hot Tip:

Before transferring Capital One miles to Copa’s ConnectMiles program, make sure to check award availability and compare pricing with other Star Alliance programs, such as Air Canada Aeroplan and Avianca LifeMiles. The 30% bonus is appealing, but it doesn’t automatically make ConnectMiles the cheapest way to book a flight.

Final Thoughts

With Copa Airlines as its newest transfer partner, Capital One is giving cardholders another way to redeem miles for flights across the Star Alliance network. The 30% transfer bonus through December 1, 2026, is a nice promotion, especially if you’re eyeing a flight to Central or South America or looking to book a Star Alliance partner award.
