Cathay Pacific rarely runs transfer bonuses, so when one shows up, it’s worth a few minutes of your attention.

For a limited time this summer, you can grow your Asia Miles balance by 10% just by moving over credit card or hotel points you’re already sitting on.

Here’s how the offer works, who qualifies, and what to do before the deadline.

How the 10% Asia Miles Bonus Works

The promotion runs through August 28, 2026. During that stretch, converting eligible bank or hotel points into the Cathay program earns you an extra 10% on top of the points you move over.

You must register for this promotion before you move any points. Registration takes only your Cathay membership number, name, and email. If you’re not a member yet, enrolling is free and takes a minute.

The transfer bonus is capped at 10,000 miles per member, so the sweet spot is converting up to 100,000 points. The offer is open to U.S. residents, and there’s a separate version for members in Canada.

Your bonus miles may not post instantly; it could take up to 12 weeks after the base miles hit your account before the bonus shows up.

Hot Tip:

Which Transfer Partners Qualify?

This is where the offer gets even better, because the eligible list is long. On the bank side, you can convert points from American Express Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Brex Rewards, Capital One miles, Citi ThankYou Points, and Wells Fargo Rewards.

The hotel programs eligible for this offer are Accor Live Limitless, Best Western Rewards, Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, Shangri-La, World of Hyatt, Anantara Vacation Club, Brilliant by Langham, and Dorsett. It’s worth noting that transfers from Marriott Bonvoy didn’t make the cut.

Not every option is worth using, though. Amex dropped its Asia Miles transfer ratio to 5:4 earlier this year, so even with the bonus, your Membership Rewards points stretch further with other partners.

Most hotel currencies convert at rates that leave you better off booking free nights with those points, rather than sending them to an airline. The strongest plays here are programs with a transfer ratio close to 1:1, such as Capital One, Citi, Bilt, and Wells Fargo.

If you transfer 100,000 points at a 1:1 ratio, you’ll walk away with 110,000 Asia Miles.

Final Thoughts

Asia Miles can be a genuinely rewarding currency, especially for premium-cabin awards across Cathay and its Oneworld partners, and Hong Kong stopovers make the redemption value even better. If you already have a trip in mind, this bonus is an easy way to top off your balance before redeeming.

Even if you’re undecided, registering costs nothing and keeps the door open, so sign up before August 28 and decide on the transfer later.
