Chase Aeroplan Card Now Offers a 15% Discount on Award Flights — Even on Partner Flights

The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan^® Credit Card has a new name — and it also has a valuable new way for cardholders to save points. Cardholders now receive 15% off eligible Aeroplan awagrd bookings, including certain itineraries with partner-operated flights.

How the Aeroplan Card’s New 15% Award Discount Works

Primary cardholders of the Aeroplan card now automatically receive 15% off eligible award bookings made with Aeroplan points. That’s one of the key perks of the refreshed Aeroplan card announced today, September 10, 2026.

To qualify, the itinerary must include at least 1 Air Canada-operated segment, but the remaining flights can be operated by Aeroplan partners. This gives cardholders plenty of flexibility across the program’s network of more than 50 airline partners.

For example, an eligible itinerary normally costing 100,000 Aeroplan points would drop to 85,000 points. And if the trip combines an Air Canada flight with a partner like Lufthansa or United Airlines, it could still qualify for the discount.

That makes this perk more flexible than Delta’s similarly named TakeOff 15 benefit. Eligible Delta-branded cardholders also save at least 15% on award tickets, but the entire itinerary must be operated and ticketed by Delta or Delta Connection. Partner-operated flights aren’t eligible.

Of course, the new Aeroplan card benefit comes with a trade-off. Cardholders are losing the previous 10% bonus on Chase Ultimate Rewards points transferred to Aeroplan after meeting the applicable spending requirement.

While that benefit increased the number of points transferred into Aeroplan, the new 15% discount reduces the cost of an eligible award when you’re ready to book. It’s also automatic and doesn’t require cardholders to hit a spending threshold first.

The refreshed card now includes automatic Aeroplan 25K status with no spending requirement, up to 5x total points on eligible Air Canada purchases, 3x points on travel, and up to $100 in annual Air Canada statement credits. Its annual fee is now $195.

Final Thoughts

Losing the 10% Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer bonus stings, but the new benefit should be easier to use. Saving 15% of your points can go a long way on a pricey premium cabin award, and the ability to include partner flights makes it even more valuable.

For cardholders who regularly redeem Aeroplan points, this could quickly become one of the card’s most valuable perks.
