In the past, Chase has only permitted cardholders of either the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve® to refer individuals to the specific card they possessed.

With this latest news, Chase has introduced a customer-friendly move that enables customers of any card from the Sapphire family to refer individuals to either of the Sapphire cards, expanding their options beyond the 1 they already have.

Let’s take a look at the details of the new Chase Sapphire card referral program.

Chase Sapphire Card Referral Program

Previously, if you possessed a Sapphire card, your ability to refer someone was restricted to the specific Sapphire product within the Sapphire family.

For instance, if you had a Chase Sapphire Preferred card and a friend was interested in applying for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, unfortunately, you would not be able to refer them and earn bonus points for your referral.

But with the latest update to Chase’s Sapphire referral program, you can share a link or send a referral email for any of the Sapphire cards and earn bonus points, regardless of which card you hold.

This new policy is highly beneficial for cardholders and is in line with the policies already existing from Chase for their Ink Business and Freedom family of cards.

Not to mention, American Express, one of Chase’s main competitors, has been offering its cardholders the ability to refer friends to any Amex cards and earn bonus points through the Amex Refer a Friend Program for quite some time.

Therefore, it’s good to see Chase enact a more customer-friendly policy that will also help them attract new clients in the future.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

The team at Upgraded Points is thrilled to hear this news, as we are cardholders and huge fans of the Chase Sapphire family products. This announcement will surely excite many of our readers, who are also fans of these highly sought-after cards.

It’s great to see Chase implementing a more flexible policy with its Refer-A-Friend program for the Sapphire cards. If you have either card, you can now refer it to your friends and family to rack up those valuable Ultimate Rewards points!
