Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Chase has brought back its Month of More for those with a Freedom credit card.

Many of your favorite brands are participating, and you can enjoy rewards in 3 ways: when redeeming points toward Apple products, redeeming points toward gift cards, or earning extra cash-back on gift card purchases. This deal runs through May 31, 2025.

Here’s how Freedom cardholders can participate and details you should know about this offer.

Chase Freedom Month of More

If you have any of the Chase Freedom cards, you’re eligible for this promotion. That includes the Chase Freedom Flex®, Chase Freedom Rise®, Chase Freedom Unlimited®, and Chase Freedom® card (no longer open to new applicants).

When redeeming Ultimate Rewards points for Apple products, your points are worth 10% more. Typical redemptions are worth 1 cent apiece in the Apple Ultimate Rewards store, so this promotion makes them worth 1.1 cents each.

When purchasing gift cards through the Shop Through Chase website, you can earn up to 15% cash-back on gift card purchases. Bonus earning rates are as follows:

If you’re using your Ultimate Rewards points to buy gift cards, there’s a promotion for that as well. Your points will be worth more on gift cards for these merchants at these discounted rates:

Is It Worth It?

Using your Chase Ultimate Rewards points for gift cards typically occurs at a 1-cent-per-point value. That means you need 2,500 points for a $25 gift card. With a 15% discount during this promotion, you could get a $25 gift card for 2,125 points, making your points worth 1.18 cents each.

We value Chase points at 2 cents each — quite a lot higher than what this promotion offers for using your points on gift cards or Apple products. However, that value assumes you have a Chase Ultimate Rewards credit card with an annual fee, unlocking Chase’s valuable transfer partners.

If all you have is a Freedom credit card earning cash-back, you’re left with redemptions that offer 1 cent per point, so getting better than that during this deal is an improvement. Otherwise, your points can be worth much more if you have a qualifying credit card.

This promotion also offers a bonus for buying gift cards. If you’re shopping for them, getting bonus cash-back is never a bad idea.

Bottom Line:

There are ways to redeem Chase points for much better values than what this promotion provides. If you don’t have access to those options, however, this can be a good deal if you’re shopping for gift cards.

Final Thoughts

Chase Freedom’s Month of More is back from May 1 to 31, 2025. This deal is now live, offering bonus cash-back on gift card purchases and discounted redemption rates if you’re using your rewards to purchase gift cards.

Does it make sense? Not if you have better ways to use your points, but it may be a personal decision if you’re shopping for gift cards and prefer to save the cash.
