Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

As a business owner, having the right credit card at your disposal is crucial. You’ll not only get to draw the line between your personal and business expenses, but there’s the added bonus of earning rewards on those purchases.

Chase has 2 business credit cards that can make a lot of sense for business owners — and you don’t necessarily need an established LLC to qualify. The Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card and the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card both provide outstanding rewards rates with no annual fee.

Additionally, new applicants have the opportunity to earn up to 75,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points once they meet the minimum spend requirements for the welcome bonus.

Here’s some valuable information about these starter business cards, part of Chase’s popular Ink lineup.

Earn 75,000 Points With the Ink Business Unlimited Card

For starters. the Ink Business Unlimited Card boasts a rewarding welcome offer: Earn $750 cash back after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months

The cash-back is deposited as Chase Ultimate Rewards points. With a 1:1 ratio between cash and points, $750 (for example) in bonus cash back is worth 75,000 Ultimate Rewards points, which are worth $1,500 according to our valuations.

Some business owners may be targeted for the higher 90,000-point welcome offer, but for a no-annual-fee card, the current welcome bonus offers are some of the best publicly available ones you’ll get.

Hot Tip:

With a premium Chase card (Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, or Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card), you can combine your points together for even more redemption opportunities — particularly if you’re interested in using your rewards for travel.

Earn Up to 75,000 Points With the Ink Business Unlimited Card

While the welcome offer on the Ink Business Cash card is similar to that of the Ink Business Unlimited card, there are some slight nuances to note: Earn $350 when you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months and an additional $400 when you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 6 months.

As you can see, the spending minimum is tiered, allowing business owners more time to reach both parts of the welcome offer. Not only that, but you’ll get access to the first portion of the welcome offer ($350) relatively quickly, while the remaining ($400) is awarded after spending a total of $6,000 on purchases in the first 6 months.

Along with this welcome offer, there’s an exciting new update with the Ink Business Cash card. Business owners with this card, plus a Chase Business Checking account, will earn a 10% bonus on all the rewards earned in the previous card membership year. While this does not include the rewards earned from the welcome offer, this is a great way to accelerate your earnings during the first year of card ownership.

Comparing the Ink Business Unlimited Card vs. Ink Business Cash Card

As both cards have the same welcome offers, you may wonder which one best suits your business needs.

This will greatly depend on the type of business you run. The Ink Business Cash card earns up to 5% cash back:

  • Earn 5% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services each account anniversary year
  • Earn 2% cash back on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and restaurants each account anniversary year
  • Earn 1% cash back on all other purchases

With the 10% business relationship bonus specifically on the Ink Business Cash card, you can earn an additional 12,500 points up to the maximum on the 5% cash back spending category.

On the other hand, the Ink Business Unlimited card offers a simple earning rate: 1.5% cash back on all eligible purchases. There is no Chase Business banking bonus here.

No matter which business card you choose, both come with purchase protection, extended warranty coverage, and rental car insurance.

Final Thoughts

Applying for either business card is one of the best ways to beef up your balances of Chase Ultimate Rewards points. As long as you can meet the minimum spend requirements in time and figure out whether the Ink Business Cash card or the Ink Business Unlimited card is the better fit for you, they pack a powerful punch for all types of business owners.
