Chase is giving one of its smallest Sapphire Lounges a much-needed upgrade.

Construction is already underway at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), where the bank is expanding its Terminal 4 lounge. While Chase hasn’t revealed exactly how much larger the space will become, travelers can expect a bigger lounge in the months ahead.

Here’s what travelers need to know.

Chase’s Phoenix Sapphire Lounge Is Getting More Space

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Phoenix (PHX) opened as one of the smallest lounges in Chase’s growing network, measuring just 3,500 square feet with seating for 78 guests. It’s located in Terminal 4 between gates D11 and D18.

Airport construction documents show work on a Sapphire Lounge expansion is now underway. Temporary construction walls went up between June 21 and June 25, with work expected to continue through September 2026. The project includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, demolition, and interior build-out work.

Chase hasn’t shared how much additional space is being added or when the expanded lounge will officially be complete. However, the project should help relieve crowding at what has become one of the busiest Sapphire Lounges in the network. Based on the available plans, we expect the lounge to at least double in size.

The Phoenix lounge features a wraparound bar, an indoor patio overlooking the concourse, made-to-order food served from a vintage Airstream-style counter, and a reservation system through the Chase app that lets eligible cardmembers reserve a visit before arriving at the lounge.

Separately, PHX is also planning a new lounge space as part of the airport’s Terminal 3 North Concourse expansion. Airport plans call for a roughly 10,000-square-foot lounge as part of that future project, which is expected to reach completion in 2027.
