Final Thoughts
As with many U.S. airports, passenger demand is growing, and PHX is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in renovating and modernizing its terminals.
Over the last few years, Terminal 3 has benefited from increased ticketing and baggage services, expanded curbside access, and a consolidated security checkpoint. Terminal 4 is also due to receive a new eighth concourse in 2022 that will be occupied by Southwest Airlines.
These developments, in addition to the extension of the PHX Sky Train route to the Rental Car Center, should ease congestion around the airport and increase passenger capacity.
