Hi Ryan,
No, you do not need to have a credit card. You can rent a car from Budget using a debit card.

Wondering if you can help me. I set up a Fastbreak/Rapid Rez account with Budget some time ago and discovered there seems to be a problem with having the apostrophe in my last name (O’Brien) in the profile–when I try to make reservations, I am unable to do so either online or by phone and have the reservation connected to my account. I have tried unsuccessfully to resolve this problem by calling every number and every email address I have been given by the various representatives I have spoken with, to the tune of about 20 calls thus far. They have ALL been in foreign-based call centers and have been unable to either resolve the problem–even at a supervisor level–or transfer me to a domestic representative. The only response I received back my email efforts was one saying something about deleting my account and when I emailed back for additional assistance I heard nothing more. Can you suggest anything else? I can’t believe Avis/Budget’s customer service is this bad!!

Hi William,
Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. Have you tried contacting Budget through Twitter? I have had good success getting quick and direct customer service answers from other companies through Twitter. It may be worth a try! You can find them here: https://twitter.com/Budget Good luck!

I have a question. I have Budget Fastbreak membership. How long will my car be held if I arrive a couple of hours late. Any suggestions?

Hi Maureen,
Your car should be held until you arrive, but it might be worthwhile to give them a call and let them know that you’ll be a few hours late.

So if you have Fastbreak and book a car you bypass the check in line and go right to the car?

Hi Dave,
With Fastbreak you’ll just have to show your license and pick up your keys before you get your car.

Who do you show your license to? Do I have to cut in front of the long line to get to counter to show my license?

Hi Peg,
There should be a separate line for you to use that will take you right to the front.

What does it take for Budget to have the envelope waiting for me in the stand outside the booth. There is often a line for me to get the keys at the pick up booth downstairs. Is that only for pay in advance customers?

Hi Dave – You might want to reach out to Budget directly with your question. Thanks for reading!

Hi. I reserved a car from a 3rd party website for Budget LAX. What should i do to avoid long lines?

Hi Seref – If you reserved with a third-party site you likely wouldn’t have access to Fastbreak benefits. Is it possible to rebook with Budget directly so that you can skip the line?

I’m a Budget Fastbreak member. Will I also need to give my credit card for a deposit when I pick up my car?

Hi Jon,
Yes, you still have to have a credit card on file.
